Empower- Templar's Solar Barrage vs. other sources

Until I started playing on Templars, my understanding was that Empower only applied to one light attack. The "official" definition I found is "Increases damage of next light attack by 40%"

But, when I look at Templar's Solar Barrage, it reads differently: "While this ability is active you gain Empower, increasing the damage of your Light Attacks by 40%."

To me, this reads as getting a 40% buff to ALL light attacks while the ability is active (so about 10 seconds, I think?). Is that right? That is not in-line with what Empower is in any other cases, hence my confusion...

Yep; thats how it works.

Dk empowering grip counts for two light attacks but that's the only other exception I can think of.

For a couple patches 1 year ago or so, they continuously improved the ability. Lost it's cast time, gained an explosion upon activation, duration I think was increased (I think) and instead of getting empower once every 2 seconds, in bewteen explosions, it just gives empower the whole way through.

Basically much easier to use with a spammable like jabs, not to mention the cast time changes allowing you to pretty much empower yourself every 1second.

Those changes prompted me to make a templar.

Hardly matters as you are not supposed to spam light attacks. Either use ability+light attack, or heavy attack to regain magicka.

I do not get any empower at all from solar barrage, seems bugged to me. LUI bufftracker doesn't show the debuff and cmx doesn't show any more damage with light attacks.

the passiv empower from mages guild does work and is shown in the bufftracker ( i. e. LUI or any other buifftracker)

I wouldn't go on buff trackers. Mine like to not show major evasion as an example but animation clearly shows me in shuffle. Test damage. Something since the update where buffs just fall off
