ZoS , why are you not fixing real issues with the game?

With all the ridiculous nerfs buffs and tweaks we see on patch notes why are actual in game issues not fixed?

Game crashes
Blue screens
Non firing skills
Unable to travel to certain instances without crashing ( cloudrest mostly)
Adds spawning in walls
Lag
Proc sets that don’t proc

There’s literally so many more but these are some that I’ve seen first hand , maybe stop looking at things like bloody name plates and look at what’s happening inside your game?

Would love to see the stuff others have encountered below.
I’m the somebody who steals your sweetrolls.

Nope they gotta chop and hack the code for blocking this time....smh instead of fixing crit rush where the two handed sword stays behind me and doesnt fire or loading in from a fresh complete uninstall and reinstall to the screen being bloody like I'm almost dead .
I mean we could write a list of broken buggy skills as large as a dictionary and they would find something else that nobody even mentions to rewrite the code for. It's getting absurd

That's a silly question with an obvious answer: what takes longer, tweaking/nerfing sets and skills or rebuilding the core infrastructure of ESO so it runs better?

I mean, you'd think the saga of the groupfinder rebuild would have clued people in that fixing the game is a months-long process that usually runs behind schedule, but apparently not.

Unless you already know that and this post was all just about "ZOS, don't forget about these other problems just because you've got a shiny new Harrowstorm to hype!" If that's the case, carry on.

Different teams for different areas and problems.

I thank Pyrite everyday that those who work on class and weapon balance are not touching server stability. That alone would be foolish to think they do, aswell overly idiotic for anyone to publicly claim it. Luckily commonsense would take over.

They are saying there's patch coming in March where we have to delete and reinstall the game, and that "should" improve the game performance and fix the crashes, but we'll see.

Yeah if they make me do all that and the game still runs like poop then I'm not going to be happy.

I've been playing on and off since launch and performance has improved remarkably.

I'm almost never stuck in infinite loading screens now and can go into Cyrodiil without guaranteed crashing.

When I do crash now I think it's actually my machine rather than the game. I had to downgrade a few years ago and my new graphics card isn't great. When I crash now it's almost always when my character is turning. Or sometimes when accelerating on a mount. Seems more likely that's a function of my machine struggling with the increased demand for graphics processing than a problem with the game client or server.

Also never forget that addons can be epic performance killers.

You know, I've played 2500 hours and I don't actually remember ESO crashing. I remember infinite loading screens, poor performance in certain areas, lags and skills not firing (could be my Internet by the way), but I don't remember crashes. Sincerely.
One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the world or me.

I hope update 25 is going to fix a lot of this stuff. It would be very disappointing to re-downloadl the entire game(about 3 days for me), only to end up with the same problems we have now.

This can also be due to current console limitations and sonys STUPID restrictions on patches. Trust me I had to jump through flaming hoops to push a patch on an indie game a couple years back. As for not fixing the issues, the team us divided up, content, combat, general bugs, console bugs and crown store.

Simply because there is no profit in fixing old chronic issues that so many have accepted by continuing to sub and buy new content. They are not frustrated by these problems. You’d have to play the game to be frustrated.

There is probably some truth in that statement. Either that or they won't admit they are unable to fix the ancient bugs. Both possibilities suck.

Never had any of these outside of when i was experimenting with addons, but that doesn't really count. I mean addons are not ZOS's creation, and they are not responsible for their side effects.

What i did had is random silent disconnect. Though it's easy to recognize considering, that nobody moves, and objects don't load. It happened like 3 times in 2 months. So i would say it's not in the game-breaking category.

Some points are client side issues which are difficult to solve, I havent had a single crash or blue screen with the PC that I build in 2018.

Skills not firing and lag are probably caused by server issues, often only during prime time. Its difficult to say if this is a hardware or software related issue on ZOS' side. High ping and a slow connection can also be caused by your internet provider.

Ive never had issues with porting to Cloudrest, add rarely spawn in walls and my proc sets seem to be working reliable.

These real issues are quite subjective tbh, maybe its due to the fact that I mostly stick to PVE these days.

I think the Devs truly do want their game to work as smoothly as the rest of us, an incredible amount of work goes into new content and updates, but one has to think in 2020 it's hopeless now. Seems we get new issues after every patch :|

I don't say this as an insult or to be flippant but I think the true answer is they are not competent enough to fix these problems. If you look at some of the persistent problems that they've deployed several "fixes" for that remain unfixed, I think it's safe to say that the ZOS coders don't have the skill to fix their game.

And we players have become so used to the constant errors that we don't even notice them any more.

Here's the first few minutes from when I logged in today.

    Login attempt
Error: you are not connected to the internet. (Yes, I am)
    Login attempt again
Error: that account is already logged in (How did I log in when I was supposedly not connected to the internet?)
    Login complete. Log into Rimmen.
Mount and run to crafting stations. Run on top of horse.
Get invite for random normal from friends. Failed to join group.
Invite again. That player is busy.
    Bing! You're in group.
    Queue for dungeon
    wait...
    wait...
    wait...
    wait...
    Leave queue. Requeue.
    wait...
    wait...
    wait...
    BING! loading dungeon.

That's not an anomoly, that's a fairly common first few minutes in ESO and most of that has been around since I started playing 5 years ago. Everything except the broken login, which they "improved" last year.

EDITED: I think another glaring example of lack of competence is ZOS's demonstrated inability to balance their game. I get that MMOs make tweaks to skill and gear every patch as the game progresses, but those are tweaks -- not the massive, absurd swings we've seen in the last 6 months. I've been playing MMOs for 20 years and have never seen a legacy skill or item nerfed by 70% after 5+ years. That's unheard of and a clear indicator that the development team is in over their heads.

Maybe it's lack of budget but I'm guessing ZOS isn't hiring the skill level needed to maintain the game.
