I played back in 2014/2015 but left after a couple of months. My highest character was level 42 at the time.

I came back about 2 weeks ago and decided to level a brandnew characer. She just levelled 30 and a chest should be among the rewards. I didnt get it. Reading up on the internet i saw that the chest is only rewarded once per account, but my level 40 obviously didnt get it in 2015.

Does the game just look at existing levels on the account or should it keep track of the levelling rewards?

In short: Is this a bug or am i just out of luck having an old level 40+ on the account?

You should have got the crate when you reached the required level on the new account, if you didn't it means you aleady claimed it, having an old account doesn't affect anything. Maybe check in the crates section to make sure you didn't just forget to open it?

You are absolutely right. Didnt know bout the seperate "crate" section. I searched for it in my inventory.
But since you pointed that section out, i managed to find it and the crate was there.
