Should we be able to package 50 transmute crystals into box we can vendor?

I was thinking that players who primarily PvP need more sources of income, and a good way to do that would be to make it possible to package 50 transmute crystals into a box that can be sold for gold. This would also let PvP'rs use up the many extra transmute crystals they inevitably end up with. I'm envisioning a system where a "permission" is purchased with AP, from a vendor in cyrodiil, and will package 50 transmute crystals into a box that can be vendored/sold.

Anyone else think this would be a good idea?

If you are voting "No", can you please explain why in comments below. The only reason I can come up with is the idea is to encourage those who normally only PvE to PvP.

I voted No, because while I realize that those of us who PVP a lot get more crystals than we can use, and those who don't wish they could buy them, the idea behind transmuting items is occasional use. As it is, we can spend AP on buying Elite gear, mats, and the tradable gold jewellery from the Golden Vendor to sell. Allowing the sale of crystals would just crash the market for gear and weapons that drop with the BIS traits. Don't really see how that's fair.

Pretty much Zos thinks we should not. The design seems straight forward that Zos wants us to run the content and keep running the content over time. That is why banking them is limited and why they are not tradeable. Basically I expect Zos has seen the various requests concerning crystals and has no interest in changing the design.

I really wanted to say 'Yes' but that was just me being selfish.

The only way I would be for this is there was a cost. If you want to take all those 1 and 2 gems and combine them to a 50, then it is going to cost an additional 50 to do it.

    No.

If you get it to where people can buy them then getting groups via the dungeon finder for dailies would be even more difficult.

You can already make money from surplus crystals by transmuting an item and deconning it to try to get the new trait’s mat. It does require an initial investment to learn one item with that trait, but from then on it only costs crystals.

That way it doesn’t directly interfere with the value of BiS gear.

No need for silly solutions to problems caused by the asinine crystal cap. Just get rid of it. It doesn't actually stop people from hoarding crystals inside geodes and serves only to act as a player-hostile nuisance.

I see your logic, but I have so many I've transmuted my little heart out to the traits I need on all my toons...could transmute to one and back I suppose. lol :D

Fundamentally, transmutation should not substitute for players running content to get the gear they need.

    This idea goes against that.

You could transmute items into sought-after traits and decon them for the trait stone. I know people do that for Potent Nirncrux, I'm sure Triune would be pretty lucrative too.

It would be a great convenience, but that 100/200 eso+ bonus gets devalued/bypassed if you can buy them from other players. I wouldn't mind if Clockwork City was a requirement somehow, like the coffers are bought from a vendor there. That ensures either buying or renting clockwork, which may entice zos to do it as it could result in some sales.

I believe Triune is only for Jewelry, and unfortunately you only get one grain per jewelry piece deconstructed, not plating.

Triune is only for jewelry, yes.

Edited: I misunderstood your point about grains, because that word (and “plating”) refers to quality tempers, not trait mats. If I’m reading it right, you’re saying that you get pulverized Dawn-Prism from deconning, not the whole trait mat.

In either case, Potent Nirn is much more lucrative.

People still need keys for monster shoulders. I burned through about 105 in one sitting to get the correct weight Stonekeeper shoulder, and I didn't even care about the trait at that point because i'd just transmute it.

My understanding is that the only reason PvP'ers receive the crystals at ALL is so they don't have to PvE to get transmute stones which presumably they also use. Similar to why the Golden Vendor became a thing. It was to introduce parity and fairness to players that only do one style of play.

Allowing players to sell transmute stones obtained through PvP would be the opposite of this and therefore doesn't make sense.

Additionally, all attention on "this issue" (PvP'ers with "extra" stones) will do is cause the amount of stones we can get from a PvP campaign to be lowered, which would be sad for those of us that enjoy getting them this way.

If you have more stones than you need, I say be grateful and be quiet so as not to ruin it for the rest of us! ;)

I do think the cap should be raised. When I want to change builds (PvE or PvP), I will wait until I obtain ALL the pieces I need before transmuting, in case I get lucky and obtain a better traited drop or cheap buy from the guild store while grinding for my final pieces. As a result I find I am regularly in flux between "too many" and "not enough" stones but all that really means is I am on an upswing or downswing with regards to a new patch and new builds I am getting ready to try. Please just let me open all my stones and hold them until I have need to spend them!!!

They could do this, or they could just let people collect an infinite number of them and then create, transmute and decon staves all day, at their leisure, to get Potent Nirncrux.

Either way, I think the 200 limit is ridiculous.

Don't delete - make basic weaps, with a cheap trait, then transmute to Nirnhoned and deconstruct for a chance at Potent Nirncrux.

Would be a lot easier if they didn't fill your bags, if you're over the limit, but still.

It might be interesting if the only way to sell the transmute crystals is to buy an expensive container (like 1 mill. gold/ap).
Players could also get a rare crafting recipe to make the container from vet trials (or other content/pvp) also for the consumate crafter.

It's not difficult to get a character to tier 1 in pvp, if the need the stones that badly and can't wait just run vma or trials a few times a week to get them
