Also make Ayrenn prettier, pretty please. And make her to lose that "I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an crown in the knee" attitude. She would feel way better as the semi-arrogant Smarter Than Thou scholarly mage type (Vanus, Tellenger, Than etc.) you write flawlessly.
Anyway an Altmer swordsman (swordperson??) is a nonsense in this game.

I find the dominion to have a intresting story, and the queen to be intresting character wise. why should zos change that because you disagree?

For Bretons i would have it focused more on the common strife, and no real racism. After all the Breton race itself is a mixed one. Maybe it would be the Queen/King who is the villain for a change, an our job would be dethrone him/her. For once we would be on the rebels side.

high elves are racist by default. it's who they are. racist *** who consider them selves the supreme race.

I like Emeric far more as a leader than Ayrenn. Simply because the fact that she basically does nothing wrong and all her decisions seem best.

Emeric, however, has some good character building. You see him at his worst in Stormhaven and then recover from that defeat. Unlike Ayrenn, he makes mistakes.

It might be just me, but it seems like the DC leaders are more equal in stature in their respective alliances than the rest of the leaders.

To a Bosmer, Ayrenn comes across a bit Naive at best, complicit at worst, to some of the Genocide that has been carried out under her nose under the command of General Enadare The Jade Butcher. There are enough NPC high elves around talking smack about what a great General that a Bosmer can't help but but put a blade of woe in a tallie here and there. Ayrenn in opening Summerset to other races perhaps is some small progress and believe her to be benevolent perhaps just aloof.

I'd Love to see a factionable Greenpact Blacksap/Aldmeri compliant Bosmer Civil war DLC to overthrow the Camaron King Aeradan. It's hard to believe he can sit idly by in his throne room in Grahtwood ignoring constituents with their building anger and not be targeted for assassination. Clearly he's just a Altmer puppet and complete stooge. Gelthior should be in that throne. He's supposed to go on trial? I keep hearing around the Forge in Vulkel Guard how justice will be served?
Well revenge will be served cold!

It's a shame what they did with AD, and I'm fully with you, OP. I played through the AD story once for Cadwell's gold, never again. The whole questline is basically about promoting globalism, and Ayrenn is soulless and irritating and just unlikable at every step.

I agree and it's also just a bit boring overall. But Ayrenn at times also just comes across as a mindless follower puppet of who I have no idea, but she just goes along with what she thinks she's "supposed" to do based on what "everyone" thinks is good, instead of thinking for herself and making her own decisions based on what she personally thinks is right. She just tries to do what other people want her to do in order to keep them happy and keep the peace and it's boring and makes her seem like she doesn't have a mind of her own. And then has a lot of tyrannical tendencies with just having everyone who goes against her or disagrees with her killed (that's also just poor. lazy writing). I mean can't we put these people in jail instead? They certainly have them since our character gets stuck in them at least twice.

It might have been a more interesting story if her brother were older and have him inherit the throne, with his wife influencing him to treat the Khajit/Bosmer poorly and manipulate them in ways similar to the College of Aldmeri Propriety questline. Then have his little sister Ayrenn come in and overthrow him, put them all in jail, and have all of the High Elves/Summerset Isles now in civil war amidst the threat of the ED and DC looming over them. Then in comes the Khajit and the Bosmer offering their help and a now much needed and purposeful alliance, to an unprepared and clueless adventurer sister who never thought she'd see the throne.

Well, the AD questline is my favorite in the game, and Ayrenn is a great character in my opinion. I love that she is a subversion of the stereotypical Altmer mentality, and the goal is more about bringing Tamriel together (Under Mer rule sure, but still...) I really hope they get Kate Beckinsale back and explore more of her story sometime. (Even though we all know she is actually a time-traveling AI/robot from the future...)

Also, I am all for more sexy characters in games (Male and female!) but she is beautiful enough already, I think.

An alternative Ayrenn story:
Ayrenn, the eldest royal kid and a rightfull heir, became disabled early in her childhood, and is paralyzed from waist down (a paraplegic). She is rejected by the Aldmeri society and being "unfit", she is sent to a monasterial mystic order.
Being exceptionaly bright with well organised mind, she starts studying hard and soon she becomes not only a skilled mage, but also a historian with a very deep and detailed knowledge and also an able administrator who becomes an abbes of one of the monasteries her order runs.
Later she also shows some ability to foresee near future.
One of her fater advisors discovers her abilities and secretly comes to consult. He finds out that the young princess has unique insight into politics and her advices are very often good. Princess on the other hand gets insider information in the state politics.
Both Ayren and her brother shared the default Aldmeri superiority complex. However as Ayren discuss the future of the kingdom with her fathers advisor she finds out that the high elves need alies and alone, they certainly fall. As a result she starts study the "inferior" nations, Khajiit and Bosmer and eventually she becomes intrigued and despite her typical prejudices even amplified by her disability, she starts to understand and even like them.
With the expected demise of the king, the roayl advisor and friend of the princess decide that when the prince takes the throne as planned, the whole nation gets ruined. After the old king's death, he helps the scholar princess to claim the throne despite her father's last will but in accordance of traditional laws as he successfully disputes the fact that a physical disability makes her claim void.
Princess and him immediately start to form the future Aldmeri dominion, and the new queen has to fight not only the faction that supports her brother, and the typical high elf prejudices, but even the old prejudices of her own.

No. AD storyline is good as it is. Three races that tolerate each other because they have no choice. They don't have much love, they don't have much hate either, they just work with each other and do it well.

Ayrenn is good as she is too. She is the best in each way possible. She is better nord than the nord queen.

Funny thing is, I don't even care for Ayrenn that much. Made myself look like quite the fan though I guess.

I just enjoy subversion of expectation a lot when it comes to characters, so that's the part of Ayrenn that I like. Her flawed behavior is the most interesting part of her and I would have loved to see it expanded on.
A lot of story-telling in ESO is lacking in depth IMO. That's a broad statement and applies to more than just any specific questline. Because of this, I find personally that I can either dismiss a character due to the writing... or I can look at the concept and at least appreciate that, even if it never gets fully used. At the core, Ayrenn lays the basis for an interesting character, so that's what I'll stick to focusing on -- not the part where OP just REALLY wants her to be a scholarly mage because she's Altmer....

That you find her soulless irritating and just unlikable at every step kinda suggests she is a well done character. If instead you were completely blasé about the character that would indicate a badly written character.
