Hello, forum-goers and pie aficionados of ESO! Pie King greets you all!!

The idea of running/streaming a charity event for the upcoming Jesterfest has been floated to me by numerous people I've interacted with here, ingame, in Discord, etc. etc. The moral of the story is that there's a ton of awesome charities out there that could always use a hand, so let's help em out, Pie-King-style! Since April Fools' Day is only about a month and a half away, I wanted to announce this now so that everything's organized well in advance instead of being a last-minute crapshow.

Here are the details, which I'll be fleshing out as I can as more info becomes available:

WHEN: *A* singular day during the Jesterfest when I have the whole day to devote to the game. The dates for the 2020 Jesterfest haven't been announced yet so I can't give an exact date, but it's usually around the end of March and/or the beginning of April to coincide with April Fools' Day. UPDATE: This will be between March 27th and the 30th; the actual date will depend upon the wishes of Mrs. Saucy Jack ;)

WHAT: A stream that will last [DEPENDENT ON SCHEDULE] hours, in which Pie King will be crisscrossing the Pie Kingdom (a.k.a. Tamriel), pieing literally everyone and anyone he can! (NPCs don't count - this one's gonna be about the COMMUNITY, baby!)

WHY: To raise money for DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS!

HOW: I'll be keeping a google doc spreadsheet of everyone who messages me here, or ingame, or on Discord, or wherever, who wants to donate. You could pledge a flat amount, or pledge an amount per person pied, or pledge an amount based on me reaching some sort of person-pied threshold - it's up to you! At the end of the stream, I'll let you know your final donation tally, and since I don't want to be handling any money whatsoever, I'll post the link so you can make those donations personally, you beautiful people you!

    THE CURRENT CHARITY SUGGESTIONS (will update as more suggestions get...suggested):

    - The Water Project (digging wells for clean water in Africa)
    - Child's Play (putting toys and gaming systems for the kids in childrens' hospitals, clinics, and domestic violence shelters)
    - Doctors Without Borders (providing medical relief/aid in war-torn areas of the globe)
    - Directly Into Neoealth's Pocket (what it says on the tin)
    - The Australian branch of the World Wildlife Fund (to aid in restoration after the bushfire devasation there)
    - Wounded Warrior Project (giving physical and mental medical aid to post-9/11 wounded veterans)
    - National Canine Cancer Foundation (does research and education/outreach regarding canine cancer)
    - The Grey Muzzle Organization (facilitates care and adoption for elderly dogs who would otherwise be put down)
    - Action Against Hunger (provides aid, education and infrastructure to combat world hunger)
    - St. Jud e's Children's Hospital (researches and treats pediatric catastrophic diseases)
    - International Rescue Committee (provides encompassing aid to refugees due to humanitarian crises)
    - Special Operations Warrior Foundation (provides post-secondary education financial aid to surviving children of special ops personnel who have lost their lives)
    Anyone have any other suggestions? I want to nail down the charity/ies by next Monday.

    Not a global appeal, but Wounded Warrior Project has been getting really involved with gamer livestreaming and can help offer support with publicizing the stream. They help U.S. Veterans from post -9/11 onward with everything from physical help to mental health help to community outreach/support at no cost to the veteran or their family/caregiver.

    Another thought is that, since ZOS recently did the #SlayDragonSaveCats thing, you could focus on helping a charity that supports man's best friend.

    Did a quick search for canine-specific charities and these two caught my eye:

    1. National Canine Cancer Foundation - looking for a cure for canine cancers (one of my pups was recently diagnosed, so this kinda hit home for me :'( ): https://wearethecure.org/

    2. The Grey Muzzle Organization - works to help senior dogs get the care they need and get adopted. Everyone adopts puppies and younger dogs, so the poor older dogs often end up dying in the shelters: https://greymuzzle.org/

    Doctors without borders / Medecins sans Frontieres are absolute bona fide fecking real life heroes. Hold them in high regard.

    Also, maybe a hunger relief charity (like Action Against Hunger) because you're going to be giving people pie during the stream ;)

    As a veteran of the US Marine corps myself, I'm going to agree with @DragonRacer on the wounded warrior project.

    Doctor Without Boarders they are real life Non-Alliance Magicka Templars Healers in Cyrodiil Resuscitating everyone no matter the alliance. Can't go wrong with them.

    St. Jud e's Children's hospital would be a good one, I think :)
    (I had to sick a space in the word Jud e ...because for some reason the forum thinks its a curse? O_o huh)

    Also, if you need more pies, I can donate some XD I STILL have a ton left from last year. The ones I sent you for Christmas barely made a dent in my pie collection.

    I searched, “comedy charity organizations” and a few names came up - but I don’t know how legit / helpful they are.

    Also found The Pie Hole - which apparently donates pies? ...and is Canada-based.

    I guess I just think the charity picked should be something funny / off the wall / “not one of the regular causes” we normally see - ‘cause it’s, well... YOU.

    St Jud es is also another great one!!! @ArchangelIsraphel, Jud e is German for je w.

    I didn't know that! @BisDasBlutGefriert thank you for the information, it's good to know. I can see now why the filters would be like that since the company originated in Germany.

    International Rescue Committee is a great charity option for your consideration and they have all top marks with charity watch groups.

    So unless anyone else has other charity suggestions, I'll put these in a forum poll starting tomorrow and look at the results on Monday. Thanks for the suggestions so far!

    Helping people in anyway is a great idea @Saucy_Jack !! Lots of good charities. I would add that perhaps rather then donating money that people donate their time, as a volunteer. Nothing touches your community more then being a part of it hands on. Just a thought for a charity pledge option. :)
