Heavy armor PVE magicka damage dealer?

So, as you can see from the title, I am looking for something fun with HA magicka damage dealing for PvE.
I am not looking for a viable or meta build, just something that I think could be fun. If it can be viable even better :D
I found some fun heavy armor sets, that seem to be good and I am thinking of templar class.
Also, if I would want to make something more viable, what race, class, skills, CP points should I focus on? Maybe there are some fun builds you can point me to, that I can adapt to my preference :)
Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad Engrish :D

Rattlecage is a heavy armor that is heavy on spell damage, has a little health and only comes in heavy. Is easy to farm. Drops in VoM iirc.

You will need to add a lot of sustain form somewhere else since sustain is important in PvP but also you lose a lot of sustain by dropping the LA.

Edit: Race, whatever you think is fun but Bretton should work well. CP would be pretty much what you already use in PvP.

If you just like the look of heavy armor you can always make your outfit heavy and wear light without reducing your damage.

I was thinking about PvE not PvP. Maybe Argonian would be a good race if I decide to make him into a tank in the future?

Black rose can help with sustain if you plan on doing heavy attacks, galerions revenge could be fun. Soul shine could work on a templar. But id suggest if your set on heavy armour using 5 heavy and 2 light will give you some magic recovery. Maybe mix rattlecage / black rose / soul shine with a light set like mothers sorrow or burning spell weave.

Maybe Seducer in Heavy to help with sustain?

Templar in Rattlecage + Seducer wearing 5 heavy and two light is one route I'd consider if looking for magic heavy armor build.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

Heavy Armor sets can be 5-piece as jewelry and weapons without actually affecting the "armor" component of it so unless you are insisting that all the sets are classed as heavy armor, your choices are still very broad and you can still have your Light Armor passives.

Obviously you are gonna solo or role play and not hold a group back by q'ing as a dps mag in HA....

The only passive that helps with mag dd in heavy armor is the heavy attack gives more resources one, and tbh, the light armor passives help so much with sustain, that you will need to heavy attack in heavy armor for that xd but generally you will want heavy attack build, with dots(damage over time) all around.

But i tell you what, put on heavy armor, do a 30 seconds rotation, then swap back to light, see how good your sustain is, and never think about using heavy armor for mag dd again. Ez.

Well, should you change your mind and go with a DK rather than a Templar, Elf Bane is looking pretty juicy for both PvP and PvE next patch and that's heavy armor.

You are going to be short on a lot of Spell Crit, Spell Penetration and sustain in Heavy Armor. I would recommend crafting some Mechanical Acuity to help with your crit, and use Force Pulse or Crushing Shock as your spammable to proc it. You’ll definitely want to go with Breton race for the sustain, and the Grundwulf 2pc set can help too.

For the Spell Penetration you can either use the Lover Mundus Stone or the Spinner’s set (it’s a Light Armor set, but you can use 5 pieces on jewelry and your staff if you’re set on all Heavy Armor, or wear 5 Heavy + 2 Light to help sustain).

As mentioned by another, if you are just interested in the look of heavy you can do that in the outfit menu at the dye station.

That is why I made a master crafter, so I could have all the outfit styles unlocked for dye station.

You can play solo with whatever you want, but if you plan do do group content like dungeons/trials with that build, then be ready for hate/insults. Just saying

Mechanical acuity is a good idea tbh, but he doesnt need to use force pulse, it procs pretty reliably even from light attacks

Hehe, I’m starting to interpret this thread as a challenge. Maybe I’ll play around with a Heavy Armor DPS build if I find myself bored this week. Kinda curious to see what kind of numbers it can reach (although I’m not sure people were too happy with my last experiment that showed Resto front bar could be used for DPS, lol).

Necropotence - farm delves for waist and feet and dolmens for jewelry
(alt Crafty Alfiq, aim for same sets)
Seducer 5x Heavy - chest, legs, hat, waist, gloves
Weapons - Mad Tinkerer - 2x is spell critical alternative Eye of Mara 2x magic recovery

You are going to loose a lot of armour passives, but it will work for PvE

Since you're going to horribly reduce your sustain, you probably should go with a build that is designed for heavy attacks. Most of those seem to be for sorcerers or DKs.

You probably also won't have a lot of spell crit, so that's particularly bad for classes that boost critical damage, liek NBs.

Proc sets might be good, since they weren't going to benefit from crit chance anyway, although no heavy armor ones jump to mind.

If you're thinking of soloing world bosses or dungeons, or grouping for dungeons, Elf Bane could be great. Otherwise, things won't die that slowly, even with your gimped build, so the set would hould be awful.

I know this is an old post but you could craft fortified brass in light. That way you have heavy resistances without losing your la passives
