What to pair BTB best with ?

Hi all,

recently I bought a set of golden Bright Throat Boast's jewelry, and I'm wondering what's the most effective setup to use it ? Should I leave it in the Arcane trait and combine it with Crafty Alfiq, or should I transmute it to Infused (with mag power glyphs in both cases) and pair it with New Moon Acolythe (and Balorgh's perhaps) ?

I'd want to use it either on a Breton Magplar or a High Elf Magsorc (non-pet).

TIA for your opinion.

/EDIT: I want to use it for small scale and group play in Cyrodiil

Leave it Arcane and put it on your sorc with Alfiq. Sorcs benefit from stacking magicka.

If you want to make or you already have NMA, then put that on your templar. Templars benefit from spell damage more than magicka.

    NMA for the magplar
    Necropence for the magsorc

On my magplar I prefer 2x swift traits, but if your goal is pure damage then infused yea. Leave them arcane on the magsorc.

Combing two offensive sets will mean you’ll need a defensive monster set. Chudan for the magsorc and 2 1 piece armour sets or bloodspawn for the magtemplar.

Magplar: Bone pirate arcane jewelry... gonna need the stam to have a decent stun via turn evil...
    Sorc: necro or crafty

@Tranquilizer, please be aware that this guy is trolling or running some pretty unusual build.

He does have a point about stam sustain. Personally I find Altmer hands down the best magplar race, just because of the reduce damage while channeling and stamina sustain. If you’re a Breton you’ll need amber plasm or shacklebreaker.

On my magsorc I’m a wood elf so have great stamina sustain, even using dark exchange. It’s sorta fun playing a dodge rolly magsorc too:

Dodge roll and streak debuff lasts 4 seconds which is the same duration as mist form, and dark exchange continues to return mag while in mist form. You can make a really trolly magsorc with a wood elf.

Well, yeah, but those sets, not Bone Pirate, and I don't get the point of Turn Evil. Yes, it goes through block, but Toppling Charge is so effective, these days, I've even seen some stamplars use it.

I'm guessing youre speaking no-cp? Because you dont even need Bright Throat on a Breton. NMA/Crafty/Bloodspawn with skulls. You still have 17k stamina.

I think desert rose is better for sustain if that's what your using it for, plus can use sugar skulls instead

Yea, most stam I see don’t use turn evil. That’s why S&B is so popular.

I tried it on my stamblade (when she was a stamblade) and found it strangely lacklustre. Something about it being a rune on the ground, combined with the speed I move at, seeemed to make it less effective than Mass Hysteria for me.

Thank you all for the input.

Guess then I'd use BTB with Alfiq on my magsorc and build my magplar for a healer. Wouldn't hurt to be able to play another role in pvp, I think.

And thank you @Iskiab for the monster set recommendations, but why Mighty Chudan on a sorc where you have easy access to Major Resolve with Boundless Storm ?

@Tranquilizer Here’s a sorc build a friend created that uses BTB, Necro, and Chudan. The included video explains his gear choices. Pretty solid for non cp and bgs, dunno about cp.

May have been pre- flame reach nerf, so keep that in mind.

Magplar has the best stun in the game from Toppling Charge

I usually mix damage and healing on all my classes. Being a pet sorc makes your bar spots precious so I’d rather Chudan then use the armour buff.

Chudan’s underrated on certain classes. 1 piece armour is the best 1 piece bonus you can get, 2 piece bonus saves a slot and gives health.

    What?

Toppling Charge is single target, can be both blocked and dodged, and isn't really aimed in chaotic fights (I've been playing around on Templar for the first time in ages recently, and have somehow charged pets that were behind me and not even visible on my screen when I activated the ability). Streak is very much superior, and other CC's are in at least some situations as well. For instance, Dizzy Swing -> Medium Attack is a stun that's off the global cooldown, which can be a big deal when trying to execute a burst combo. That will still work next patch as well, you just won't have it ready to go every 6 seconds like you do now.

While I'll say that Toppling Charge is certainly a solid ability, it's by no means the "best stun in the game."

I’d put it equal with dizzy - med attack. Both are about the same burst and give the benefit of the off balance CP bonus damage.

Streak’s probably a little better because it’s aoe and can’t be blocked, but it’s tricky using it in a burst combo, but I’m not that experienced with sorc so it might be lack of practice... I went ball of lightning.

I used it with shacklebreaker then change it to spinner since most of pvp'er now run heavy armor.
Its pretty good for sustain and damage especially since i am also breton.
