Anyone do the math when we Re=patch main game? I'm hoping for 2 meg/sec, but expecting 750k.

I typically download anywhere from 150mbps up to 300mbps. Probably take me within 30min.

I am also bit confused, isn't it based on your connection and hardware?

I don't recall 2mb/s on any game for years, decade personally.

Also I am not fond of getting everything as first on patch day, most often I don't play on any games patch days so can't say how ESO handle traffic. (Not very well on shape of servers I assume)

If you do 300 Mbps, shouldn't it be done within 5 minutes?

Personally I have a 1gb connection, as for some reason the launcher throttles it down to a maximum of 150 mbps

Eh i dont really know how long it takes, i just reinstalled on a new SSD couple days ago and it took me a little bit. I know thats not a measurement of time but i wasnt keeping track. Just know it didnt take an hour or more.

There is difference of having 300mbps connection and actual 300mb/s download speed due how providers market and how they are classified.

Usually 300mb internet only has about 25-28mb/s download speed at max in reality.
I don't really understand why it is so and why not just market and call it how it is.

300mb/s connection would be 3giga and I call that impressive.

Someone smarter is free to correct but that was how I understood how it works.

I was wondering about SSD myself, would it be better than my hybrid SSD HDD storage? And can you play from an external if I chose SSD?

9-10 mb/s for me. Don't know about that mbit/s. File size is measured in mbytes, gbytes, not bits )

For some reason a lot of ISP's advertise their download/upload speed in Mbps. The Mbps is megabits per second. 1Mbps=0.125 Mb/s so for example, my Isp claims 25Mbps. In practical terms (I've timed it) the best I can download is around 10.5 gb per hour which mean 25Mbps is 3MBps (abbreviated Mb/s in torrent downloads) Bits are used for data transmission, bytes are used for file size. There are eight bits to one byte. Take a close look at wether the "b" in Mbps is an upper or lower case letter. Sneaky marketing.

That's your bandwidth. It's measured in Mbps (Mega BITS per second) whereas, your download speed is measured in MBps (mega BYTES per second)

One byte is equal to 08 bits. So your connection of 1,000 Mbps will have a download speed of 1,000/8=125MBps

Which is what the difference is. So 1gb internet will ideally give you actual download speeds of 100-125.

If you have 300MB download speed that means your internet offers at least 2.4gbps bandwidth.

Factor in the datacenter's bandwidth. They can have several Tbps, but divide it by X thousands concurrent sessions. It's not noticeable for small patches cause people get in, download it within seconds and are gone playing. Ain't gonna be the case with 56 GB patch.
