Would slimecraw work on a healer?

Sets that are better than either Ice Heart or Slimcraw are Symphony of Blades or an easier set to get is Bogden the Nightflame. Even Earthgore would probably be better choices than either Ice heart of Slimcraw.

Ofc, not sure what you are healing since that is not mentioned.

PUG pve dungeon healz. I play a hybrid templar. Front bar is support dps. I currently use Jovulds, mothers sorrow and switch between Sentinel and Icehearts.

Slimecraw would be 100% useless, not only because it's meant to give you a minor buff to your damage done, when you probably do pretty little damage as a healer anyway, but because you should be having close to 100% uptime of minor berserk from casting combat prayer for your group on CD.

Edit: (Combat Prayer applies to yourself too, Minor/Major buffs don't stack.)

I like Slimecraw on several of my PvE solo dd's but not on my healer for the reasons discussed above. Unlike a boost to spell damage that helps both damage and heals, minor berserk just boosts damage. My healer prefers Earthgore but that is only one of several monster sets that I would put on a healer over Slimecraw.


It sounds like you are looking for a healer with reasonable damage. Mine tends to heal for pugs and non-grouped gaggles fighting WBs or dolmens (not coordinated groups or trials) so adding damage is important. Her approach is to favor skills that do classic healer/buff stuff while providing some incidental damage (like shards and the offensive morph of orbs). She also carries high spell damage because it helps both healing and damage.

I used to be Heals with backbar Deeps but unless you're secretly a DPS masquerading as a healer, you will be of more use Buffing your Group damage dealers than you will be trying to dps with healer sets equipped.

I would Suggest Olorime's or Spell Power Cure.
Pair that with Infallible mage set that places 8% damage intake with each heavy attack that will help your group do more dmg.

Sentinal Monster Helm to Restore Group Resources. Also make sure you always have Orbs slotted and up at all times and Drop Luminous Shards on Tank, if you're a Templar. Also combat prayer as someone mentioned above!

As a support role, you're job is not to do dmg, that is for DPS only when running with a pro vet group that can manage to sustain themselves should a healer delve into damage dealing in HM/no death instances where the faster you kill the target the better.

Oh, also War horn and that Elemental Debuff from Destro Staff that gives Magicka Regen on backbar.

Generally speaking for pve healing you will have combat prayer up most of the time. Outside of that minor berserk will not increase your heals to allies unless you are using funnel health as a magblade healer or swallow soul for your self heals. But that is not a justifiable course just for a monster set. There are better healing options and better self defense options for. Proper healing build.

ZOS may not be done yet with the changes to Iceheart ...we’ll have to wait until they publish the patch notes for Update 25.

Until that happens it’s premature to call it dead.

Although there are better monster sets than Iceheart for an off-heals hybrid character anyway ... as pointed out by the forum-goers above me.

I thank everyone for the help. I can not get Olo I don’t belong to any guilds. SPC is a maybe since I can run WGT. I would like to keep Jovulds since the buff is good, I can drop Mothers Sorrow but lose a chunk of crit healing. I suppose I’ll have to get on the build calculator.

You don't need a guild to get Olorime as you really don't need the perfected version and you can easily run normal with zone chat groups.

I never see anyone looking for healers. Trust me, I am always on the lookout for that one and Maw. I am on Xbox na, I usually play during off peak hours, so it’s a difficulty find trial runs in the am.

Its important to understand that non non veteran pve content in this game is mostly a wash and you can easily zone chat pug a group and go in as dps or healer, hell healing in normal trials is barely even a thing now days.

If you can put up with pug trials, go to Craglorn and watch zone chat. There are groups forming all the time for normal Cloudrest/Hel Ra Citadel/ Sunspire etc.

In a week and a half I've managed to get enough Infallible Aether and False gods devotion together to start experimenting with.

Watch a CR youtube video or two and when you see someone post "LFM nCR" just whisper them +heal. About 1 run in 4 will fall apart but generally most pugs make it through. By the end of the week you'll also know the trial like the back of your hand.
