Trinimac's Valor is Inconsistent

I decided to give Trinimac's Valor a test and found that it is very inconsistent and buggy when bar-swapping (I have two pieces as weapons). Whenever I switch bars and cast a damage shield ability it doesn't proc, even beyond the cooldown. It then seems to be completely broken until swapping bars a few times again. I'm not certain of what exactly is happening, but I do hope that this set gets a look for this next update. Has anyone else had issues with this set?
