Should players be able to name Gear they craft - even if they are part of a set?
Seeing as how the stats are still available and we pick up items in dungeons with unique names that are part of a set

I'm torn between the first 2 options, but as long as when people link the armour/weapons in chat it shows the default name.

Don't really see a need for it, at most your going to make a crafted set in your choice of PVE trait and if the set is viable in PVP an Impen version.

Or if you have the gold to spend you can just make a set of Weapons and Jewelry to save on space and use for both PVE and PVP.

    This.

As a storage jockey I'd like a rename function for none craftable sets as well, finally can filter on sets, without the odd unique set item disturbing the naming harmony.
Might also make way for other custom sorting.

I just want a standard naming convention

Belt of the Seducer, Boots of the Seducer or whatever should be:
Seducer’s Belt, Seducer’s Boots, Seducer’s Helm; so everything in the set stays grouped together.

    I voted yes, but...

It should be part of the upgrading process with its own material. Maybe add a line on the top of the item description when completed. Naming the item could then be done, or it could be sold nameless for the purchasing player to buy and name later. Once the name is made, no taking it back. But a crafter could 'upgrade' the item again I suppose to replace the name line so that the item could be renamed.

I think what the item is, whether it be 'of the whatever' set pieces needs to be in the description somewhere.

They could make renamed gear account bound.

    Possible problems solved.

I would really like it TBH. This game has too little RP.

Also let us make bundles to sell in guild store.
E.g.: A box (content is shown in the UI) that holds Hunding's Rage Jewelry and Weapons (complete 5 set pieces).

Common identifiers exist for a reason.

Gets asked what staff you're using, links 'My Big Stick' in chat.

Role players have been creative with with their imagination without the need for the game to cater for it for ages. The game allowing nicknaming collectibles for others to see is already a nice feature. There's no real reason for making naming personal items that no one sees anyway a feature. You can already personally give every item whatever names you want by taking a leaf from role players, you don't need to substantiate it unless you are prone to forgetfulness. Doesn't need to be a game feature.

    Greetings,

After removing and editing a few posts from this thread, we would like to remind everyone that Baiting is a violation of our rules. It is stated as follows:
Trolling or Baiting: The act of trolling is defined as something that is created for the intent to provoke conflict, shock others, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction. It’s okay and very normal to disagree with others, and even to debate, but provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable in the official The Elder Scrolls Online community. If you do not have something constructive or meaningful to add to a discussion, we strongly recommend you refrain from posting in that thread, and find another discussion to participate in instead. It is also not constructive or helpful to publicly call out others and accuse them of trolling, or call them a troll—please refrain from doing so. If you genuinely believe someone is trolling, please report the post or thread to the ESO Team, and leave it at that.
When creating threads/posts we ask that they be kept civil, constructive, and within the guidelines of the rules in place. If there may be any question in regards to the rules, please feel free to review them here.

    Thank you for your understanding,

Hmm...i dont see the point, but on the same note, as long as it shows the actual set name in chat, as someone else stated, it doesnt affect me.

Personally, its not something i would do, but someone who role plays could name it after certain items throughout the TES universe and really start to flesh out the backstory and adventurous nature of their character. So..why not i guess lol?

During various quests you get various quest rewards that actually have their own name.
Some serious roleplayers might actually want to keep and use those items as they have meaning to their characters' stories.
But if you had done those quests while you were under CP160, you'd be stuck with an obsolete item you can't upgrade to CP160.

No. I can just imagine the obscenities and inappropriate names players would have to scroll through while browsing guild stores. I have already seen a lot of players giving their characters bad names, so, no.

I'm waiting for this. I hate that my great set weapons have no names or legendary story. I see no problems with this, because all renamed items could be bound.

This is very unimportant. If it can be done with addons or where it is only saved locally then fine. That way it does not add any load to the servers and if linked in chat no one would see the name you gave it.

If it can be done that way fine. If it is server side and everyone can see the name if linked then it should not have any consideration as it would add to the server load.
