Hey ZOS, can we expect an announcement about the CP revamp this year or not ?

Retromastery
Because it would be nice to know if the current stagnant CP system will stick around by the end of this year or not... I'm not asking for a detailed answer of course, legit a yes, a no or even a we're not sure yet, would be just fine, all I personally ask for is some kind of hint on if we should expect the system to get revamped this year or not

Edit: I just found that article after searching for quite some time, basically they say they are not quite ready to talk about it just yet but that they are getting close

    @ZOS_GinaBruno

    I'd love to see anything.
Some ideas or direction they are taking character progression at all. A preview, if you will...

My fear is they actually have zero idea and haven't even begun to touch it. That they are willfully leaving it stagnant.

they said back in August that they were working on it internally so it's definitely in the work, albeit in the design phase but in work nonetheless.

Though... it was back in August... so basically more than 5 months ago so it should be more advanced than what it used to be, logically at least

+1 for this post. The community needs to press them more on this issue. We deserve some communication on an issue so key to a mmo.

I get that they don't want to announce a system that is not final and only announce something final and concrete, but at this point it's been a year since the system was alted... I think we deserve at least some more communication on where the system is going or what it will be in the future

I would expect Zos to make an announcement sometime this year. However, not until they have something to say more than the last time they/Gina commented on it. Zos has been burnt bad by speaking before they knew exactly how it would unfold.

That last comment was basically that they do not have much to add to the progress at this time.

Pretty sure CP revamp is secondary to the major combat changes they have been implementing and trying to polish. Yes, I would like to know, I would like the changes to already be over. However, I mostly want Zos to think it through and design the changes very well unlike when they rushed the idea originally.

oh of course, I respect their decision on that front, like you said they have the major combat change to worry about first, but still, them being silent just feels a bit... uncomfortable, especially when it's about such a major system, but I understand why they prefer not to say anything unless they are 110% sure about it, because the last thing you want is to tell the community something that ends up being false or changed

But CP was never great. They also found that CP was essentially the reason for all the lag and issues in Cyrodil as the server couldn't handle all the possible numbers and combinations of percentages in real time.

Rich Lambert said after the Greymoor announcement that they're still working on it but aren't ready to show anything yet. So it's still definitely in their list of things to do, but no eta on when.

that's still better than the answer we got back in August haha, just found that article about it

    https://www.gamespace.com/featured/the-elder-scrolls-online-rich-lambert-on-the-dark-heart-of-skyrim/

    Basically:
GS: I have another player asking about changes for the CP system. Do you have anything in the pipeline?

Rich: It’s something we are actively working on. We’re not quite ready to talk about it yet, but we’re getting close.

Would it make you feel more comfortable if Gina posted in this thread that they had nothing to add at this time and it would still be awhile before they are done with revamping CP? It would end the silence but seems regardless of how pointless it would seem.

I never said that me being uncomfortable was justified haha, it's just how I feel period
