A few moons ago I was riding my trusty steed named Pickles in Northern Elsweyr and came across a dragon while exploring the zone. I noticed a few(and I mean one or two) hardy brave souls attempting to kill the viscous creature so being the helpful kind soul I am I decided to lend a hand. After a minute or so of lending my hand, my hand got tired and it was taking forever so I decided to venture on my way. I ran down the hill and jumped onto Pickles only to find that I was still in combat? What's this I say? I am NOT in combat I'm several minutes out from combat. Figuring it must be a joke I sprint and sprint for a few minutes and try to pull Pickles out of the dust bin and same result! What could be happening I ask? I'm halfway across the zone! Finally I decide to check the map and seeing the dragon Icon was still not fragmented I decided I just continue on foot for the rest of the hour. I finally just run here and run there exploring and eventually I'm clear across and on the west side of the zone and STILL in combat? Eventually the aforementioned hardy souls did kill the dragon and I was blessed with EXPERIENCE which was something at least.

No point to this post except for a lesson in morals, don't run off and leave a small group killing a dragon.

Just yesterday I was in Cyrodiil and my guild leader requested my aid in the siege of Glademist to cut off enemy reinforcements. I quickly departed from Arrius Keep riding on my wolf, Sir Wolf. During my trek I was ambushed by 6 Daggerfall soldiers. I called on my Draconic powers and burnt 3 of them to ashes, and the last 3 ran far far away. I never saw them again, but my poor wolf ran all the way to Glademist without me! For some crazy reason my wolf assumed I was in combat for the next 15 minutes because I couldn't ride him until after our glorious victory for the Pact at Glademist.

ZOS let us mount "in combat" please, it seriously isn't advantageous to mount in actual combat.
