Unreadable legal agreement

Legal agreement font is in a small box mid screen.
There is no way to enlarge it.
Could not read it but also could not enter game without clicking the box.
After recent court cases that were lost by companies over similar practice... make it readable.

I skipped through most of it. As they know most people will.

What I did read though basically says they collect all kinds of data about us and share it. Even the sort of data you might not expect.

The text size was readable for me though. Maybe you just need specs 😜

The new legal agreement pops up in any Bethesda game atm if you use mods.

The other part of any EULA and TOS is 'We reserve the right to remove your access to this game for any reason'.

This covers the developers and publishers in the event that the servers are taken offline. They don't have to keep them up forever.
But it ALSO allows them to ban people. I only mention this because of all the stupid individuals who get banned in Dead by Daylight or Overwatch and snivel 'BuT I pAiD fOr ThE gAmE! ThEy CaN't TaKe It AwAy! I'll sUe!'

Well, here's the creepy part for you to read about information they collect on you for their own (not your) benefit:

"Profiles and Inferences: inferences drawn from any of the information identified above to create a profile reflecting a resident’s preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes."
    https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/privacy-policy

This is seriously, seriously creepy. Can't wait for the law to catch up with this surveillance capitalism crap.

I'd rather they just bloody ask me if they want to know. This stuff should be opt-in, and in some way regulated so customers aren't blatantly exploited. I mean, we're all here because we like the game. We want to see it do well, and we want to see it succeed. But this creepy, shady stuff along with how the cash shop has been going lately is just... why? These companies are worse than many people's ex-BF/GF stalkers.

Well its just a legal thing that allows you to know the laws and protections you have along with their legal protections every mmo game I've played has them from what I understand. They did explain the patch notes what it was for. Just updating it for new California laws or something. They have it on the website as well I think if you want to read it in full use the website which has it on here. I'm sure many people do the same thing as me because its to much of a read and its very common in every mmo with all the terms and service and other stuff.
Okay yadiyada whatever goes to click the box that says I read and agreed to it and say yes and continue on If it requires you to scroll through it first scroll through it fast then click the box without even bothering to read it. I bet some of the devs if they do play the game do the same lol. Yeah just for legal reasons they put it out but do many people read it I doubt it .

Without even worrying about it. I will admit I just looked over seen all the legal jarbel and just didn't bother with it. I do this every time they update this type of thing stuff but there have been a couple of times I've looked over the terms and service on the website if I was curious about something. I wouldn't worry to much of the legal agreement. As its there for legal reasons.

It basically says that they can do whatever they want and that if you do anything but what they want, they might just prevent you from playing their game. Also, they can sell share( sell) your data. They really need to fix that loophole. Companies should not be allowed to share your data as they please and you should not be forced to digitally sign away all your personal information to use their products.

Legal disclaimers like this are far from ironclad.

In the event of a dispute judges can rule a disclaimer invalid on many grounds. And have many times.

Customers not even being able to read the disclaimer or parts thereof, would qualify.

No legal disclaimer or otherwise organizational constructed agreement can undermine the single country’s laws. At least not in the eu.

Eu residents can read the GDPR on the European unions site. It’s substantial and protects our data

Although I do agree, it was a bit small for me also. But, I use a tv as a monitor and sit maybe 10ft-4m away. So I literally just walked up closer to read it.

The problem is if they ask you then the answers will be skewed. Analyzing the data and creating a profile of you is the most accurate way to see trends and for marketing purposes. Google has been doing it on you for over a decade....if you've been fine that long then you'll be okay now.

If you really want to look at some crazy profiling, take a look into Google Analytics, Google Enhanced E-commerce, and Google Remarketing. There isn't much ZoS can find on you that Google doesn't already know.

These are pretty much the important bits from what I skimmed. If you decline the policy the game will close out so you really have no choice but to agree. So it's just a browse wrap agreement, aka not something that can be held up in court anyway. What's in policy is essentially them telling you they have a right to collect your information for X purpose and if you wish to tell them not to you'll have to contact Y then. Overall pretty standard modern day mmo agreements but again i just skimmed it. Here is three screengrabs for you so you can read it yourself.
