Rain and storms in Eso seems a bit... bland

kenneth.friisb16_ESO
I wasw running through Riften the other day. A storm rolled in and thunderous cracks was heard, but the only visual indication that a storm was brewing, was a few tiny drops of water. The sound effects and the actual rainfall seemed a bit disconnected.
This made me think, I would actually like more serious storms. Be it rain or snow. A proper down pour or snow storm.

Am I alone in this?

    Nope.
More rain; more thunder; more snowfall.

    Really? Hadn't noticed.

But I would still like to see more aggressive weather. Especially in regions with more drastic weather, such as Bleakrock and Wrothgar.
It is, however, something that shouldn't take development time out from anything else. It's purely cosmetic.

    @kenneth.friisb16_ESO It doesn't.

More and better weather would be nice, but they need to sync weather between the client and the server first.

Currently 2 clients can have different weather in the same spot at the same time.

Except weather effects are all client side.

Yes, currently weather is exclusively(afaik) done on the client. And honestly I expect it to stay that way.

The way it transitions could also smoothed out. Sometime it storms and by walking i seem to go into another cell and the thunder.wav suddenly stops, rain stops and its suddenly a sunny day

It is but I would prefer the dread and darkness that Morrowind's ash rain provided. The wind was intense! :) Made me feel like I wanted to be indoors ASAP.

I would like to see more variety. Less rain, generally, but big downpours when it does happen, and some really great lightning storms. Right now it seems like it's always raining, even in the middle of arid regions. That's not true, but it feels that way. I would like to see mob behavior change based on the weather and also day-night cycles, and I would like it if the server kept clients in sync. Snow in Alik'r....deep enough to slow down the dolmen train. LOL

It would be beautiful for sure, but we already experience crippling frame rate drops when any sort of weather anomaly occurs on Xbox. Any more and I think the game would cease to function altogether.

Having played Red Dead 2, I agree that the rainstorms are bland in ESO by comparison. But at the same time, the beauty of the full on black skies with lightning maelstrom you get from time to time in RDR2 fades pretty quickly when it hits you right before you ambush a group of outlaws and suddenly can't see anyone. ESO gets dark enough, I don't need blackouts with rain

When Fortnite introduced blinding snowstorms during their Winterfest event, I thought they were kind of cool.

But after a day or two, not so much. They never impacted my frame rate, yet they impeded gameplay a lot more than they enhanced it. I'd pull back, build a little fort, and check my phone while they blew over. Not a particularly immersive experience.

At least storms in ESO are just kind of there. Not to the point where you feel compelled to take a restroom or snack break.

ZOS should make some long weather rotations, then just plug one in each month server-side.

The crackling thunder catches me off guard sometimes when I'm not expected it though, lol.

It would be cool if there was a bit more severe storms throughout Tamriel!
