Bloodfiend spawn times still unknown?

It's so strange to me that even after 5 + years, we still don't really know anything more than what we did then, some say moon phases, some say that's ***, some say once a month, some say once or twice a week. It's maddening. I know in the past I have probably spent over a month just waiting for night time, asking around in the zone chat trying to find bloodfiends, and now I'm back at it again. I know you can get people to bite you and it's pretty easy to do so these days, but the problem is that just doesn't feel right to me, I get a constant nagging feeling that just takes away the enjoyment, like I need to get it from the bloodfiends, so I always have to explain to these nice people that offer to bite me that I want to get it from the bloodfiends and look like an idiot.

So, rant over. Is there some lurker who has been sitting on some secret knowledge of the spawn times or a ZOS employee who can tell us a somewhat reliable method of finding them? please! i am begging you. Do the eyes of Sanguine's Black Goat really glow when the bloodfiends are out? is that goat going to be available for purchase again soon?

help a guy out, please.

The WW's and Vamp's share the same spawn spots. Only one type can spawn at a time.

The spawn timer has about a 6 day cooldown. So you get about 4 spawn cycles per month. When they do spawn, the same kind will spawn for three game nights in a row, that takes about 24 hours.

The moon has nothing to do with what spawns or when they spawn. The WW's have a higher probability to spawn over vamps, but each will spawn at least once a month.

So there is some information out there that is or was correct. Even an addon for PC players that show locations of spawns. Just not a lot of reason for people to document the minutia of getting an NPC bite since it is so easy to get from guilds.

iirc, it goes along with the moon cycle in game which is not easy to figure out. With 2 Vamp and 1 WW bitten in the wild, more from guild members, I went to several locations at night until I got the bits. Well, first one was accidental.

Edit: so the moon has nothing to do with it. Disregard that part.

They used to coincide with the moon phases in the game.
Werewolves spawned on full and vamps spawned on new moons.

But people were running around killing the spawns so they could sell bites for lots of gold.
So Zos randomized them a bit so they would be less predictable to cut down on that.

As someone stated above, they spawn on about a 6 (5-8 in my experience) day cycle and they usually spawn for a 2-3(4?) moon cycles which happens 2-3 times a 24 hour period. Then after another 5-8 days the other one spawns usually.

I had a lot of fun hunting them down and finding them to get some of my characters given the "gift"

Just have a magicka based character heading down the road doing something completely unrelated, not even wanting to bother fighting overland stuff.

THATs the character that will get jumped and bitten by a WW.

    :p

I once got the WW bite on a character that didn't want it, and got rid of it without fully doing the entire quest, the debuff was gone. Went out and got infected by Blood Spawns at a later date... ended up with the WW disease again!
