New Weapon Skill Line: Wand and Source!? Magic users need more than Destro Staff / Resto

I understand that magic users can use the other weapon archetypes, however, I don't like the idea of using a 2H Sword simply for the increase in Spell damage or S/B for block cost reduction for my Magic toon. Give us something like Wand and Source! I think we deserve it

Please post your thoughts / wishes on your ideas for a new magic based weapon skill line! What active abilites / passives they could contain

One hand and a focus of some sort would make a logical magicka weapon line and has been suggested before. It does not need to include a sword or any other weapon currently in game as it could be a wand or something similar.

Random thoughts

Enchanted gauntlets/bracelets (think sorc overload style but expanded)

Dagger/wand and tome/book (focus on status ailments/buffs)

Bound weapon style (change form based on distance from enemy)

Arcane bow (fires arrows off elemental energy)

A wand skill line, with at least one melee(ish) skill, would be awesome.

And I thought I was the only one who made that connection (husband and I are playing it right now). Is "source" something that appears anywhere outside the Divinity games? Because this is the only source (pun intended) I know it from.

If they added spellcrafting and we could use 1h weapons with a spell in the offhand or dual wield spells or 2 different spells at once it would be awesome. I'd be cool with just adding something like a magic offhand also.

No seriously, I agree that a magicka weapon wouldn't hurt. But can it be something reasonable and fitting? Like say, magicka swords or at the very least tomes and not a damn wand?

Ah, so that's where it's originally from! I've never read the discworld stuff (or, well, anything from Terry Pratchett for that matter), but maybe I should.

As for ESO, I agree, it would be great to have an alternative to the destros as a magicka dd. Dual-wielding wands could be interesting - like the magicka version of the normal dual-wield skill line in the sense that it could be more agile and faster than the staves. I could also totally imagine just slinging spells from our bare hands (hopefully spells that we were able to craft ourselves beforehand).
