Nothing. Even for 'free', those riding books/skyshards/skill lines/XP scrolls/etc, are a waste of crowns.

I'd save it for useful stuff, like costumes. (or, with that kind of excess, I might actually buy a house or furniture for crowns)

In what sense are costumes useful? (O_o)?

    Useful for what exactly?

Fashion war is endgame of any mmo. At least in the pve side of things.

If this was WoW, I would probably agree with you, but this game doesn't have a lot of end game cosmetic achievements. There's only 1 mount that you can get from PvE (the ice & fire tiger), the rest are body skins.

Also the Emperor costume is from PvP, and there's some other costumes you can get by playing the game but nothing fancy.

Most of the cosmetic stuff is locked by crowns and I wouldn't call that "end game", is mostly who have the deepest wallet...

And I forget to say you can get all the motifs by just playing the market and making gold, not necessarily doing PvE or PvP.

I'd buy there Werewolf Curse that would be the first thing, I've been hunting players offering 5K-10k Gold for a bite - no takers

    Honestly I would buy:

    I've been interested in the:
    Clockwork City
    Thieves Guild
    Wolfhunter

The Gardner House, the Alinor Town House or Daggerfall Overlook Homes

    Are my priorities.

    That's a good question.

I don't have an answer. Someone should gift me this so I can study the situation. For science.

Amaya lake lodge, Ive gotten close to affording it so many times before having to or otherwise deciding to buy things I later reget. I remember one time I had to pay 600k for a *** DLC because I had a guild challenger run planned right when I didnt have ESO+ and the ZOS accounts services where offline. yikes.

And obviously a lot of furniture, got some plans :P

New account? Banker, merchant, any race/any alliance and then I'd sell the rest for gold since it would be much easier to start as a millionaire.
My account? I'd just keep them in case there's something I really like.

I'd set aside 10,000 crowns for the furnished version of the Hunter's Glade "house" in the Rift, for whenever the frak they decide to put it back on the market.

Not quite sure what I'd do with the rest, other than hold on to them until something came along.
Hunter's Glade is the one remaining house that I actually want that isn't a tactical (as a waypoint) purchase; 17 of my 18 main account characters are werewolves, or are at least infected, so it needs to be part of my collection.

Just so you know, nobody gifted me. I had about 8000 saved from eso+ perks, and bought more. Was just trying to see what to buy. Planning on starting a new character for a project im working on.

My personal opinion is that buying things like riding lessons, skyshards and vampire/werewolf are all a waste of money, because all of those can be gotten in the game for free with just a little effort.

I'd get the hair pack and accessories pack as well. So nice to be able to mix it up with lots of options after character creation. And they are both pretty cheap and account wide.

You can't be in a guild then?

I see people in guild asking for either vamp or wolfie bites and there is never any mention of cash, just turn up, get bite, enjoy your unlife.

I'm against spending crowns on "time savers". If you can get it normally in game there's no point in shelling out cash to get it faster. I'm into rp so I'd get some costumes or a house (I don't buy houses for crowns since they're overpriced imho, but If I had free 22k I might consider it). Also things like dlcs (story ones), ARAA, Imperial upgrade etc. are also fair game for me.

Definitely agree on buying the hairstyle and accessory packs — some of the first thing I bought when I started playing last July! :) I also agree that buying riding lessons is a waste of money and, in my opinion, supports a poor model of making something tedious rather than fun and then offering the option to pay to skip it. :/ I’d also pass on Crown crates for similar reasons.

Many DLC’s are worthwhile, depending on what content you like, but it’s not necessary to buy any of them if you plan to have ESO+ (definitely recommended).

A banker assistant is a good investment in my opinion as it makes inventory management, crafting and swapping gear much more convenient!

I’m surprised so many recommend Any Race Any Alliance but maybe that is worthwhile if you play a lot of Cyrodil. I don’t have it, nor do I see any benefit for PvE or Battlegrounds.

If you are just starting out and short on gold, you might sell some while the rate is good (>200g/Crown on PC NA) but be sure you conduct such transactions with caution.

Otherwise, save the rest for when something you really want comes out. :)

    Any race any alliance
    All DLCs
    Imperial race
Pet that increase your inventory slots
    Banker
    Merchant

Those are the useful things available in the crown store, all the rest are cosmetics / time savers.

If you are ESO+ I wouldn't bother with buying DLC's as you already get access with the subscription. I also would waste them on the level jumping or buffing items as, IMO, they aren't worth the cost. I wouldn't waste them on crates. I would also stay away from the mansions and very large houses as the 700 item limit is not enough to decorate them and have them look complete.

Where I would likely spend the Crowns would be on furniture packs or more likely individual housing items from the housing editor. Maybe a furnished house I wouldn't normally buy like the Snow Globe house. Perhaps some of the unique motifs, costume, mount or pets. Also for my first purchase before I had crafting leveled to where I could do master writs was one large storage chest. It with the free 30 item chest gave me 90 extra spaces which helped a lot until I could get my mount and bank leveled.

The biggest thing is I would take my time on spending them since they aren't going anywhere and once they're gone they're gone.

Hands down the merchant and banker. I would likely quit this game if I were to lose access to them. It's probably the largest crown only improvement of the entire game, even moreso than particular classes or dlc bonuses.
