Finding Rare Item Collectors

So I have an unbound pre-Tamriel One BoE dungeon piece, a Viper Sting belt (divines). The set may be meh now, but I’ve been told that there are collectors out there who will pay quite a bit for rare stuff like that. Is that true? Nobody I’ve talked to knows anything concrete about them, just vague assertions that they are out there.

If it’s true, and I wanted to cash in on my, well, gear hoarding ways, how would I shop my piece around?

if you have a guild store and TTC you could try listing it for X amount see who bites, that or link it in Zones chats
pretty sure as the set still drops it wont matter how old it is any changes made to the set will have updated on the piece you have, so may not be worth as much as you think

    XBox pleb, so no addons

I don’t even know how much I’d list it for. I guess I can just do a quick search for any Vipers Sting pieces whenever I stop by a trader.
As far as zone chat, considering how many lowballers there are spamming chat, I’m not entirely sure it’s a trustworthy source :D

He said it was a Bind on Equip version from before One Tamriel. Some sets that were originally overland (like the Warlock set) eventually became dungeon sets. If you had one of these from before they became dungeon sets (thus bind on pickup) then you would be able to sell them or give them to other people as long as you hadn't worn it yet.

On PC EU, I found a fair bit of these unbound dungeon gear.
I sold them between 30-50k with relative ease.

I have a worm Necklace that’s still BoE. I think it’s just cool to have, I’m not sure those type of items would sell for much just because they’re very easy to get.

aaah back then when you could sell viper sting. If its a bind on equip and non deconstructive then yeah its pretty rare. I destroyed all of them even before the proc nerf because I saw them as crutches. Haha procs were pure cancer in pvp. You could get killed by any noob running three procs if all othem went off at once. But now we got an even bigger problem, cyrodiil doesn't even work properly anymore. At least back then my light attacks registered.

I’ll probably never sell it, but I’m just going to pretend I have a nice little nest egg just in case I come across a rich and eccentric collector.

I've never heard of anyone buying an heirloom version of an item just because it's an heirloom....I'm sure it's happened, but I think the vast majority of the time people only buy what they can use. The only reason these items are worth so much is because they are not BoP and people would normally have to farm for them.

Not sure how much value there is in a viper sting belt, even unbound. It is still available in game in a very slightly different form and is very easy to farm. Now if you had something like a Viper bow stashed away, that could be worth a significant amount as it's no longer available in any form.

They now bind when you take them out of bank you actually have to let buyer into guild bank to pull it themselves it is more work then needed for an item

An bow would be the only part of this set worth big bucks

Interesting...… I have loads of early non BoP items...…. never had one become bound when pulling from bank, is this a really recent thing?

Ok checked, unfortunately all my remaining pieces are on characters and therefore are still BoE, however I am curious if storage chests would behave like banked items :)

Edit:- Forgot to check my jewellery storage chest, can confirm items remain BoE on removal from chest :)

Checked with Worm and VO items :)
