How many years have you been a part of The New Life Festival?

How many years have you attended The New Life Festival? So what makes you come back year after year? If you were calling the shots. What changes would you make to The New Life Festival?
Would you add stuff? Would you take stuff out? etc..

This is my third year doing the festival. The only things new for me this year are the Skaal Explorer style pages, which I like.
I wish they'd replace all those same old recipes and runeboxes next year.

4th year for me and unless there is something in the ticket vendor i usually dont bother with it as no new achievements to get, i think they should change the quests each year make it fun instead re-runs of the same thing year in year out, i understand its all shiny and new for players who just started but for us long time players its boring and stale

This will be my second year (last year was my first).
Not sure what changes I would make.

I don't dislike this event. It's an interesting concept, experiencing the New Life Celebration in the different ways that each culture does, but I probably won't play quite as hard as I did last year since I have all of the reward items and achievements from last year, except for the Frostcaster motif pages, and the Skaal Explorer pages, which I don't think were made available last year (they certainly weren't available for event tickets, since the Impressario only had [a limited number of] feathers available at that early point in the Indirik hunt, which I'm not partaking in).

It gets repetitive, but EVERYTHING does in video games after a certain point.

Done it every year. First year of events I was a 100% guy, with all the repetition I don't both since really, just try to buy what's new as less time in game. But do want the new things.

Done it every year but this year I’m just doing 1 quest for tickets and will buy the style pages/writs.

Fact there’s no new achievement points to be gained means I’ve got no reason/appetite to take part.

The challenge ZOS face with events is balancing the tasks, so they’re doable but not dull and, increasingly, making them even vaguely interesting to players the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time around.

You sense that ideally no effort would be spent on these and ZOS would run them exactly as before, same old same old with some extra push for the micro transactions they seem to love so, so much. So this year they’ve put, what, a day into adding bee nests to betnikh (which makes a painful miniquest into a relatively easy one) and another charity writ mechanic that’s been double dipped in the rng (snip). No new achievements, and no easy way to even tell which of the new motifs you’ve acquired

There are no new rewards and the furnishings they dole out are very low grade.but hey, the Crown Store is full of shineys you can only buy with gamble crate currency - a fine end of year message from ZOS. Cryptocurrency fraudsters have nothing on these guys.

For me it’s year 2 and all but those characters I created this year have done all the activities, have most of the achievements and not a whole load of incentive to do them again.

For me the worst thing about New Life (and Jesters) Festival is that there is nothing that encourages communal play, unlike witches which drew players together to do dungeons, trials and arenas. I won’t meet another player through New Life’s decaying quest roster...

So I’m pretty firmly in the “do one and done” camp, get my ticket and get the hell out of Dodge. Way more important things to be doing in the holidays

This is my 4th year doing this event and its old and boring if it wasn't for helping new players get skin or achievements and skaal style id be long gone doing something else but i like helping others so ill run 4 toons an day down from 18 like years before but with 4 i have all new skaal style already and able to now just give my guildmates that need things freely so i guess its an win win would be nice tho if new quest could be added with 1 missing race FOREVER and 2 new ones being added since seems 3 more quest might add something fun again

bit more variety in items. kind of see no point this year, I got the frost skin, I can buy the motif pages for tickets, there's no point. all I want are the weapon motif pages, so all I'm doing is getting my 5 daily tickets and leaving. there's no point in it other wise as I have the other items avaidible

forgot to mention, this would be my 3rd year. my prediction is that the skaal pages will become as common as the 5 companion pages became like rubbish in guild banks where people just dropped them

First year for me! :) I haven’t done all of the events yet, but I feel that some could use a bit more optional flavor to make more interesting but wouldn’t effect those who are wanting to go through them quickly. I liked the Redguard festival and hearing the story behind it. For the Polar Bear Plunge, were there options to interact with NPCs around the fires? Or maybe I didn’t have such options because I was overdressed! For the Breton one, I would like to be able to do different things to entertain and you get a different reaction depending on what you choose and where.

I do agree with @FierceSam that the Witches Festival is more fun in that in brings players together to do different things! I’d never tried Arenas before and that was the most fun I’ve had in Trials as everything wasn’t so serious and you could run around attacking things as a skeleton! But a variety of different types of events is a good thing. :)

Khajiit has been around a long long time - even before New Life.

In the days when there was only Fishmas and travellers still remembered the old ways.

This one thinks, and has stated before, that the meany Imperials should have a holiday quest - even if they do not like it no.

This is my second year. I did a few quests on a few characters and am now bored to death and done. I'll buy the Skaal things with event tickets (I really dislike Indriks so I'm not doing the mount thing), but the reward boxes just aren't good enough to warrant doing those grindy quests.

I wish that there were more varied rewards. I just decon all of the mudballs/fire buns/runeboxes (they're so common that you can't even give them away), and I guess I'll dump the Skinchanger motifs into a guild bank that already has stacks of them.

It's just so boring- do people really grind this for 2 weeks?

First time. My brain is telling me to relax, it’ll be back next year, but my gut is saying, “must get writs, must get event tickets.” I will be happy when I’ve seen and done everything once and can just opt out. I have six active characters and four mules/research/riding training characters and I’m allowing the events to dominate my play time.

I've done it every year it's available, but Christmas is always a crazy busy time of year for me and I'm not home much so I never get to do a lot.

Last year I only did enough to get the tickets I needed, this year (thanks to the Undaunted event being cancelled) I won't even be able to do that.

I can completely understand why you'd get bored with it if you're doing all the quests on every character every day, I don't think I'd do more than a couple of quests a day even if I had time.

I think it’s four.... I’m loosing count. Crumbs.... little did I know I’d be playing this game for so long!!! But anyways.... I quite like this event.... particularly the mudballs.... however, I’ve never done more than one or two quests in any one day.... it’s just not the way I am.... so I don’t get as burnt out as some of you guys feel

I’ve played since 2016 but this year i haven’t even logged on in the last 3 weeks lol. Every other game i play has a Christmas themed limited event..but considering i have no friends who play ESO because their attention span is shorter than their thumb lol

This is my 3rd or 4th year. I cant remember honestly. The quests at this point are pretty tedious and i can handle doing maybe 3 or 4 a day. I use to do all of them every day on multiple characters.

    4 years now

The quests have a certain charm about them that doesn't make me lose interest in doing them (except the fishing one, which I only do on my main or if my char is a first timer to the New Life Festival :p )

I also enjoy the rewards from them: the cool titles, the skin and now the Skaal outfit. New Life has the best ones imo

This is my third one and it's pretty repetitive at this point, so I just do enough to get my tickets and maybe 1 or 2 more to try to get a charity writ.

Honestly it was tedious last year but they were giving out pets so I did them more then.
