The amount of crashes that I’ve experienced on ps4 na is unbelievable. I average about 15 - 20 crashes a day how is this acceptable? You literally can’t play in Cyrodiil without crashes every 30 minutes or so and it’s so unfair. And the thing is it’s not when you are in a large population spot. It happens the most when literally nothing is occurring. Try switching in between voice chats? Crash. Opening your inventory? Crash. Try to change champion point? Crash. Try to defend a castle or an outpost? Crash. Exploring the new southern elsweyr? Crash. Trying to get event tickets? Crash. You get the point it happens literally nonstop and this needs to be fixed immediately. You can’t let console players struggle through this for months if pc already has had a fix. How is that fair? It literally prevents from playing the game and in the end that’s all we want to do.

Some (I repeat, SOME) PC players are reporting better gameplay lately, while console players are still deep in the dumpster fire.

ZOS has to run changes for the console through the manufacturers, so you’ll just have to keep suffering.

The most sad thing about this is this thread may get closed for being non-constructive. Instead of having the issues fixed that cause this type of thread pop up.

It's sad to see ESO turn into an unplayable mess on console. Literally for me it's not possible to play this game on PS4 Pro for 1 hour without seeing at least one bug of sorts. The game can even crash when you stand afk in an empty zone.

Im not a console player myself but out of curiosity is there a post relating to this? I wasn't under any impression ZOS had run console updates through manufacturers but that'd be super interesting if they did. Is there proof of that?

I haven’t seen anyone post proof, but I’ve seen other people say this, and there may have been a ZOS employee mention it in some thread, but I’m not positive.

I don't know if there is a post, but Sony and MS require all games and patches go through a process called certification or cert before they allow use. This causes a delay between PC and console version updates of games in most cases. You can google Xbox certification or PS4 certification for your proof the process exists.

Console manufacturers have some oversight into every game that comes out on their systems. They don’t just blow open the doors and let you release whatever you want. Every game has to go through a process known as certification that, in theory, helps games to come out with fewer bugs and other issues for the customer.
    In theory.
Most of the checks in certification are focused on basic usability standards. Does the game use your online profile correctly? Do saves work? Does a second controller function? Is the video output working? Stuff like that.
Not only do all new games have to go through this process, patches have to go through this as well.
Every time a game developer prepares a patch for a console game, it goes through the cert team at the manufacturer just like the full game had to.
Sony seems to have their system down. Outside of these examples I’ve mentioned above, I’ve noticed several other cases where PS4 and PC players receive a patch on the same day.
Steam doesn’t make developers wait to push out patches, usually, so Sony must have a fast and streamlined patch approval process.
Sony also provides patch notes right through the UI of the PS4 so you can see what’s changed. That’s really neat!
Microsoft apparently takes about a week to sort through patches in cert…and doesn’t have any kind of native patch notes feature inside the Xbox interface .
I can therefore conclude, totally at random and with no real actual knowledge, that any time a patch does release simultaneously on all three major home platforms…it’s because the developer/publisher has held back the PS4 and PC patches for a week so that the Xbox team can get through all their checks.
    This is no good.

yeah certification process takes a handful of days... just so you know... for problems like this to last months on end is not the fault of certification - but on ZOS for not even submitting the fixes to cert to begin with.

ZOS also uses PC players to live test patches for consoles, so there’s that too.

Its why every content release comes to consoles two weeks after PC. Microsoft and Sony has an approval process for all game updates larger than a hotfix.

Is your PS4 dusted on the side and overheats maybe? I had a week or two like you, keeps dc non stop, think I gave it a clean or waited out a week or two, not sure if it’s my isp or what but now it’s better. The game performance is bad but give those a try

Any update for ps4 and xb1 has yo be checked over by sony or microsoft. Xb is fairly quick. Sony drags their feet OR instantly approves them. Like anthems patch that caused blue screen
Consoles are not as powerful as a pc, so the same fix wont work on them. And pcs are too diverse for a simple streamline fix. Personally I have had minimal issues with eso since launch even in pvp. I have a 3 year old mid range pc, turned off all overclock and it runs smooth
Prime time in cyro is around 58ish fps 80-100 ms.

which is pretty bad to think about when they run a PTS for PC players that should be filtering the bugs and errors out anyway :(
