Why am I getting a burning status effect as a dark elf in vbrp?( On console)

I thought my passive says this isn't possible but it is happening in Blackrose. It has to be purged off of me.
Do some dots in thereleave the same animation as burning on your character?

The same reason when you are staggered by mobs despite being cc-immune after break free. Mobs in ESO have their own rules, which is bewildering in my opinion. This is even more irritating in Cyro when same skills work different from players and from NPCs.

I am fairly certain the immunity only applies to status effects being applied by weapon enchants. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

So the passive is completely useless in PvE? I don't think that's the case.

OP, did you just see the animation of fire on you, or did you have the burning status effect icon on your buff/debuff bar?

Your nerf suggestion is dumb. Learn to counter other players instead of having the game rebuilt to your ability level.

Has been on my death recap too... I was going to chime in on the orc passive thread but did not for fear it was just me.

*is happening to me in cyrodiil

It's the same status effect on you no matter the source. ZOS would have to go out of their way to add check cases for each originating source if you're right... which is ass-backwards software engineering.

I was on fire. I was taking damage, I had the animation of being on fire and it was purged off when healer hit me with purge.
Maybe one of you PC player's wouldn't mind testing with combat metrics? I'm on console and we peasants do not have this wonderful tool.

also you only get 2310 Flame Resistance (4% if math is correct) and immunity to Burning status effect (which is not immunity to flame damage) if that helps at all

I should be easy to test. All you would need is a dark elf, a dragonknight, and a flame enchant.

If you are referring to the DoT you get from stage 1, that is not the Burning status effect. It has a similar animation, but it is not called Burning. The Dunmer passive gives immunity to Burning only.
    PC/NA - Mayflower, Hellfire Dominion

Dro-m'Athra Destroyer - Divayth Fyr's Coadjutor - Voice of Reason - Gryphon Heart - The Unchained - Extinguisher of Flames

Tank - Healer - DPS (all classes, all specs)

    Youtube - Twitch

No, that doesn’t help the least bit. Read. OP said he gets hit by burning status effect, no one is expecting to be immune to fire damage.

As for OP, I think it might be a bug if your dark elf is getting hit by regular burn damage. Can’t say I’m surprised.

Are you referring to those beetles that lock onto you and shoot the fire at you?

This doesn't solve the actual issue if there is a bug, but if you just jump onto one of the rocks in the lava then the fire will never get you. But as someone else said, I think it's a different debuff getting put on you as this is a dungeon mechanic that needs to be followed.

    Blackrose Prison, not Bloodroot Forge.

This sounds like the answer to OP.

Bsw puts a unique source of the burning status effect on you, that dark elf is not immune to.

Edit: just seem you meant in pve. As some have said, some damage is unavoidable, even with "immunity".

And just thinking out loud...places like Blackrose Prison need to have special status effects for mechanics that need to be followed, or the place will just be gamed by players. The only place I can remember lots of fire is the first round (and again when you encounter that boss in round 4), and if players could negate all burning damage by simply being a Dark Elf that would be unfair. You need to avoid the fire from the Flame Attros, kill the Incinerators ASAP, and then block through the Meteors while also not overlapping them with other players. Other than that, it's a simple DPS race.

as i said previous flame damage can still hurt a dark elf the tool tip may show a burning effect but its not actually burning status
