Game is too simple

I'm NOT saying your hard earned achievements are easy to get. I am not saying i have godslayer. But after dragonhold the game has become incredibly simple, its almost boring.

Before scalebreaker, i had a good amount of diversity in my rotation. Combining caltrops with barage, and some other dots, while using my spammable often too.

Come scalebreaker and they nerf AoEs (rip caltrops) and buffs dots. My rotation already became simpler, since now my only aoe is barage, and placing dots everywhere.

Come dragonhold and dots gets nerfed aswell. My new rotation is: Hail - Skeleton archer - WBx2 - BB - WBx2 - BB - WBx2- BB REPEAT. I only have to cast bear trap every 17 sec (replace with 1 WB) and DS every 12 sec (replace with 1 WB). This is so simple and not fun.

Since AoEs are so expensive, and dots are so bad, they are simply not worth using. My spammable gets more DPS alone and thats it. I dont think this is good at all. Now, I definitely dont want zos to nerf my spammables aswell, as they are not overpreforming. NOT AT ALL. its simply that the dots and aoes are underpreforming crazy. Buff some of the nerfed ones, like caltrops, make it useful again.

Looks like someone isn’t very good with change ...

The DOT meta ship has sailed, @frontend. Which has been evidenced in the forums the last six weeks (1 month PTS; 2 weeks Live on PC).

Whether you want to theorycraft a better build is up to you ... but your post is way late to the party.

I agree. Zos continues to make horrible decisions. Specifically the sledgehammer nerfs. They buffed dots by about 50%. It was too much. Then they come back and nerf them by 60-70%. That right there is enough to prove their incompetence. How is a dev team incompetent enough to be buffing and nerfing skills by 70% after the game has been out 5 years? Skill ballance should be an afterthought after 5 years. We should be seeing tweaks like 5% OR LESS here and there. But the combat devs don't listen so we end up with this s***.

This post wasn't what I was expecting, but that's on me. When I think "too simple" I think of how this game dumbed down many traditional RPG mechanics to the point they simply don't exist in this game. I don't know what the OP is going on about. Sounds like a self-inflicted problem. You don't have to do "rotations."

before dragonhold people complained that dots meta was fire and forget and it was too easy/ dumbed down too.

Honestly combat is easy for normal content but the game has a very high sill cap. Can you probably complete most content with some practice but the game has 2 sides of appeal. One side is the role playing and questing element which TES always does well and then the min/max element. Can you just spam a couple moves to complete content? probably. But learning the class and tweaking your rotations allow you to be a much better player. The difference between a lower end DPS and a skilled dps can be as much as 10k vs 100k dps. If you aren't trying to get better at what you do and beat the hardest content the combat may be boring for you.

Hahah... I remember that! I guess as a "scrub" (or whatever insulting word kids use these days) I just play how I want and have fun with the game. I mean, regardless of how I play this game is pretty simple. If I wanted a complex game, I would punish the players in my tabletop gaming group and pull out Hackmaster. For those of you who are not in the know, Hackmaster is a satire of Dungeons and Dragons that took the ruleset and deliberately made it as ridiculously complicated as possible. We're talking hundreds of skills... most of which are so niche you'll never actually use them in the game. :D
