The price of ESO Plus just roughly doubled.

What gives? No communication leading up to it at all.

Why in the world would you increase the sub price when the game is having all these problems?
And what warranted this change?

These are the UK prices, which seem to be the same.

Just checked and my payment is still the same as it has been for quite some time, certainly not doubled.

Please let us know your country so we can check to see if this is widespread or perhaps just a visual error of some kind.

Interesting. Maybe something with how Valve/ZOS do business with your country? I am guessing as it's Kr you're somewhere in Scandinavia or Iceland?

Definitely try to get a word from ZOS on this. I'm not sure that doubling the price leads to more profits. At some point, people just stop paying altogether.

Pretty sure price has not changed for most of us. If you think about it, the price is pretty competitive with subscriptions with other top MMORPGs.

There may be something specific with the country OP lives in but whatever change occurred it was likely very limited..

Are you sure is more expensive? Because it seems you buy a 3 month sub for 149 NOK not 1 month.
Also old price 269 NOK for 3 months, is cheaper than UK costing 283NOK with 20% VAT

I would rather pay a $9.99 monthly sub instead of of Buy to Play and ESO+ at this point in the game's lifetime. It's not 2014 anymore.

Maybe then we could stop all the quirky monetization schemes and at the same time, Zo$ would also beat their competitors pricing by 33%. I would gladly have a sub as a requirement, maybe then they could put just a little less focus on the crown store. Other MMO's are doing great with a "play for free until a certain level, then a required sub" system. I don't think ESO should be the exception to the "rule" that has proven to work here. Again, it's not 2014 and things have changed a lot. I'm sure many won't agree with me here, and that's fine.

This game needs help and a different direction, why not start with their #1 concern.

While I understand you are annoyed by the raised ESO Plus price for your country, I believe it's still cheaper than most other contries?

I googled the current NOK - EUR ratio and sais 269 kr are about 26,50€. Where I live, a 3 month ESO Plus Membership is 36€ though. Also, 269 NOK are about 22,8 GBP, while the Brits have to pay 24 GBP for 3 month of ESO Plus.

I looked at my last invoice issued to me and the current prices when I log in to my account and actually go to purchase page. I'm speaking about EUR prices for EU region, and I'm unable to see any price increases.

I don't use Steam myself, but I recall hearing about similar situations in other games I've played. In those cases it had something to do with the way Steam scaled pricing based on the region. If I'm not mistaken Steam adjusts its pricing not only on a direct currency conversion but based on regional economies. They may have reclassified or made adjustments to your area. Just a heads up that this may not be a ZOS decision.

You are not looking correctly.

The first screenshot from OP is from September and it says 3 Months: 149,00 kr

Now, it says 3 Months: 269,00 kr

Sounds like what Sony did to my region. Sounds like the prices were adjusted around potential currency value changes in your country.

It took Sony 3 years after our dollar dropped to adjust the price - so you could be feeling the after effects of currency changes in your country that have happened within a period of many years.

Just converted both this to USD and the 30 day Turelus posted for GBP and both came out to 31 USD which is still less than what the US pays.

If OP was paying half previously it would seem they are getting a pretty good deal.

Yeah. His initial price from September looks false somehow. Probably during some Steam sale?

The krone is at a 20 year low against the US dollar, and expected to weaken further.

There's nothing ZOS can do about exchange rates, other than accurately reflect them in their pricing.

It's probably because you were paying 50% of the price other countries have to pay, now it's about even (still cheaper though). I have to pay >320 NOK since ever. I bet people were setting their country as Norway to buy the cheapest sub...
You live in one of the richest countries in the word and still complain? SMH
