Collecting Sets Questions?

Hello

As the journey continues to get better and better sets, I have a few questions to help me figure stuff out before my bank explodes.

6 Type of sets to collect, Stamina Dps , Magicka Dps , Tank, Healer, PVP and Monster Sets

Stamina Dps:
Armor Traits that I look out for are usually just Divine.
Weapon Traits are usually Precise or Sharpened and maybe infused?

Magicka Dps:
Armor Traits that I look out for are usually just Divine.
Weapon Traits are usually Precise or Sharpened and maybe infused?

Tank
Armor Traits are all over the place Between Reinforced, Sturdy and Infused I really dont know what to go for.
Weapon Traits, Another one I have no idea what to go for...

Healer
Armor Traits are Between Divine and Infused I just saw online some builds that use those so I copy pasta.
Weapon Traits Powered seams logical...

PVP
Armor Traits : Impenetrable and ???
Weapon Traits ... up to the build I guess?

Monster Sets
I am not here yet so No idea.

So how much that that matter, I know for pvp its recommended to use Impenetrable but for others I heard a bunch of random info.

Let me know your Armor and Weapon traits and why you use them, as it may help a bunch of newbies like me

Thanks

    Armor:
For PvE DD/healing, Divines is generally best. If you don't mind losing a few % of DPS, then Infused is also alright.

For PvE tanking, Sturdy is the safest bet.
It's quite easy to reach the resistance hard cap without using the Reinforced trait (when using heavy armor).

I've never heard of Infused being used on tank builds, at least not on "normal"/"real tank" builds using SnB + lightning backbar; maybe on some off-meta builds (and/or "fake tank" builds, which are tank/DPS hybrids)?

In PvP you almost always want Impenetrable on all pieces.
The exceptions are: bomb builds (all Divines), and some solo spec / glasscannon builds which use a mix of Impenetrable and Divines/Infused.
Do note that the former have extremely poor survivability, and the latter rely heavily on high burst damage to kill enemies before they can effectively retaliate.

    Weapons:
With weapons it's more build-specific, also it depends on whether you are using a magicka or stamina build. Here are a few examples to give you an idea.

For DD/healing, Precise or Sharpened traits are common on frontbar weapon. In some situations, Nirnhoned can be a better choice.
On magicka builds you'd normally use Infused on backbar for 100% weapon enchant uptime with Wall of Elements (normally a weapon/spell damage enchant); not sure about stam builds as I don't use those.

For PvE tanking, Infused on backbar (crusher enchant, lightning or ice staff) is the rule. Again, this applies to real tanks, not those "fake tank" builds which are really a tanky DPS with a taunt slotted.
On frontbar there's more flexibility with the weapon trait, but Decisive is a decent choice for better Warhorn uptime.

You'll sometimes see Infused on tanks that focus on stacking health. Not that common these days, but there is an application for it.

Thanks for the info its helps me alot

I also have a Question about what items to pick up, as in I always leave the sholders and head for a monster set.

What about the set pieces and where do they go?

Like does it matter at all or should I try to get Weponds with Jewlery sets together and the 5 pieces set for armor to match or can I go Random?

I suggest you watch some videos on how to build (not one of those follow my bis build and be my disciple videos) so that you'll know why you're going for specific traits/sets.

My tank uses Infused on the three larger pieces with hakeijo glyphs, Sturdy on smaller pieces. Thought that was pretty common.

Velidreth, bloodspawn, trollking, zaan, domihaus(1 piece only), lord warden, skoria, Icehearth, slimeclaw. These are some good monster sets. I cant remember all of them right now.

If you see impen or divines monster help, keep it untill you are sure it is bad. (this is a non-tank player tip).

Tanks: go for Sturdy in most armor parts. You can use Infused in helmets and also on shield and chest with a gold Prismatic Defense Glyph for extra stats in everything since tanks are hybrid. For weapons, Decisive with Weakening enchant for the 1h and Infused for the staff, which can be Lightning for some extra dps or Ice for better crowd control. Enchant always gold Crushing.

Monster sets: Warden is the best in my opinion, gives great support to you and your group, especially if you have melee dps. Thurvokun is also very good for crowd control since it mitigates dmg from trash mobs, but if you are a DK you can have the same effect with Talons plus it is worthless in Boss fights.

Magicka dps: all divines and for weapon traits Infused with weapon dmg or fire/shock enchant, depending on if you are fire or shock focused.

Monsters Sets: Zaan, Valkyn Skoria and Grothdarr.

Kinda prefer prismatic jewelry, but, yeah, this isn't a wrong answer. Infused chest, head, legs, and shields on prismatic enchants is a very good way to get your stats up.

I have both 3 Infused body parts with Prismatic + all Triune jewelry in my Argonian DK. They give around 22k Magicka and 22k Stamina and help me sustain. Plus, I am a vampire tank for extra mag and stam recovery and dmg mitigation.

Yeah, you could shave about 2k off your mag and stam if you wanted.

I mean, that is the thing with tanks. If you can get the numbers you want, everything after that is gravy, and there isn't one path to get what you want. So, there is a lot of build freedom there.
