What kind of performance should I expect with my specs?

I just watched a video talking about how bad performance is in ESO....so I'm curious.

Windows 10
1440p
5700xt
Ryzen 3600
16gb ram

I have the same card, same processor, with 16 gigs of ram @ 3600mhz.

    Prepare to be disappointed

    Wonderful...

So 1440p/60fps and decent settings is unlikely?

I run at 70-100 FPS on 1080p Ultra

    Ryzen 5 3600
    16GB 3000MHz RAM
    GTX 1050 Ti

You'll probably just fine. Keep in mind this *is* an MMO, and like most MMOs released after 2010, drops to 50 or 40 are common in towns and populated spots.

I don't suffer from any overheating or single-thread bottlenecks. At least

    Well hell that's not bad

The game uses 2 threads and you'll find your mid range card sitting at around 30% usage while your cpu gets pegged at 90+% on 2 cores.... ZoS need to scrap their 10 year old engine

Your specs don't matter in this game beyond a certain point. I've gone through 3 different builds since I started playing ESO.

    Frame rates I would expect:

    30-45 in popular towns
    60-100+ in open world
    20-40 in Cyrodiil
    20-60 in dungeons/trials

Lowring your view distance from 100 to like 20 will add 20-30 fps on average if you really want more frames. Lowering reflection quality will also add around 5-10 fps. But lowering these settings will make your game look like WoW.

The only settings that affect FPS in this game are view distance and reflections. Resolutions is also irrelevant since it's a CPU-bound game. Downscaling to 1080p wouldn't give you better performance since your GPU is never seeing more than 40% usage.

Wow.... All this time and they still haven't really optimized the game huh. That's too bad.
