This had a chance to be great right away, but...

Like the title says, this patch had a chance to be great and really start what we all had hoped would be a turn in performance and the endless lag, but alas it has done the opposite(again). Going forward do we really believe the U25 roadmap changes will actually do what we have been told they will do? I am not convinced that they will and with U24 being as laggy and poor on the server as any patch has been in recent memory it really cements my concerns. I had hoped for better but what we have gotten is a shell of what was on the roadmap, sigh.

Should always hold judgement on performance a few days after a major patch. From my experience, game performance is always at its worst on the day of and a few days after a major patch.

I understand that and have been here for most major patches(sans taking breaks when my kids were born). The problem is this time they touted it as something different with a road map and promises to go along with the milestone dates. They missed the mark on the first "checkpoint" on the road map so what should make us think that the rest of these "checkpoints" are going to be any better?

This patch wasn't bringing server-sided improvements, beyond refactoring (and hence optimisation) of some code related to combat mechanics (sprint and how stamina is handled while sprinting, likely plus a few other things they didn't mention).

It was only bringing memory management optimisation, which is entirely to do with our clients, and would mainly affect things like RAM usage, load times, etc, doubly so on console.

Lag getting worse is a pressing concern, but this patch wasn't ever going to bring server-sided improvements beyond combat refactoring. We'll be waiting until U25 for improvements like that.

Why NOBODY commented on a new group finder? It's lightning fast as soon as your BGs are found!

Just because someone has to learn to play differently and manage resources differently doesn't mean the patch is overall bad!

Because this thread isn't about the new group finder? It is about the performance improvements that unfortunately fell way short.

Also this was never even mentioned in the OP. Learning a new play style is fine, adapting is fine, the performance is what I was talking about, nothing else.

You may need to go back and re-read the roadmap article. There were only three changes slated for this update.
    1. Memory Management Changes, that should result in more stability (less crashes), mostly noticeable on base consoles.
    2. Combat Changes, the first round of changes that may not have a huge impact.
    3. The LFG Re-write, that should make LFG work better under heavy load.

I have read the road map as well. The way it has been sold is each step will progressively bring the game to a better place and this was supposed to be the start, it has not been a good start is what I am saying.

Parsing this patch is absolutely dumb, has anyone tried stam necro? Wtf have they do to tether it's like a 0.5sec CD and it *** up the rotation and sometimes it doesnt even activate... it's worse now than last patch, and the fact I lost 18.5k dps from last patch is enough to make anyone skip this patch
