Hated the dot meta and this patch helps with that. However, this patch introduced some other stuff I don't really like... It feels like it doesn't really matter which skills I use or how I build my rotation. DPS are always the same. Kinda boring to play.

Time after time after time after time players point out things that are issues and time after time after time after time you ignore the player base. Remember bash necro? Players reported the bash necro as a problem on ht PTS. And you...guess what? ...went live with it anyway.

Why even bother with a PTS if you are going to just ignore the feedback that players provide?

The combat in PVE and PVP this patch are in shambles.
Sustain is a MAJOR issue. Even running a sustain race (eg. Breaton.) with sustain food (eg. Witch Mothers) you STILL have to heavy attack for resources. You were told that it would be an issue if you went live as is. And you...guess what? ...went live with it anyway.

    Again.
Why even bother with a PTS if you are going to just ignore the feedback that players provide?

The few skills that actually did damage in PVP that actually let you kill another player got nerfed into uselessness. (eg. removing the stun from Dizzy Swing made the skill completely useless now. Onslaught 5 second duration has made the skill 99% useless now.)
You were told that it would be an issue if you went live as is. And you...guess what? ...went live with it anyway.
Healing is WAY overpowered. And healing saw what changes? Oh yeah, none.
Major protection is running rampant. 100% uptime super easy. (1. Way too many sources of major protection. 2. Duration on the buff is WAY too long in many instances.)

    Again. Again.
Why even bother with a PTS if you are going to just ignore the feedback that players provide?

How old is this game now? 5 years? Because the way they are continually hitting us with massive nerfs and massive buffs (but mostly nerfs) of 20, 30, 40% is quite simply unbelievable. That a game this old could be so far out of adjustment that it requires a nuclear option on every patch. Other MMOs may buff or nerf something by a few percentage points, this is just a complete joke and sends a signal that the developer team either

    a) has no idea what the hell they are doing,

    or

    b) is rotating between different teams with different ideas on how the entire game should work

Quite frankly I'm embarrassed for the team running this train wreck.

Soul Trap more than doubles in damage with Scalebreaker, now gets nerfed 40%. Werewolf is buffed to top damage "class" with Wolfhunter, and is now gutted to where every class can now outdamage and outheal us, and we still don't get to use weapon passives. And those are just two examples, of many. With each successive patch, this combat and balance team confirms that they have no idea how to effectively balance the game, and are instead just throwing a bunch of numbers at a wall and seeing which ones stick.

No, I am not happy. They say the changes are for class identity and yet they removed everything that made every class unique and strong in favor of normalizing them to do the same thing with different animations. Disappointing....

You are acting under the impression that they have a direction, when in reality they're actually clueless what they want and even less capable of implementing the things they aim for.

Food for though: why does Warden now get Minor Vulnerability, but not e.g. Templar or Sorc?

I am broadly in favour of the combat strategy.

I like the idea that a class spammable or DoT does a similar amount of damage for a similar cost irrespective of the specific class.

I like the idea that DoTs aren’t designed to be spammed and there is a significant cost to dropping lots of them at once.

I like the idea that inherently each class is as powerful as the others.

I think there is a misunderstanding of the purpose of PTS and the effect of player feedback.PTS allows ZOS to see if something works in a practical, non-game breaking/crashing way. If something actually breaks the game when exposed to medium numbers of players. The vast majority of changes that occur on PTS will have been planned beforehand. If it doesn’t break the game in week 3 it’s not going to be changed before release, week 5 is pretty much the whole thing set in stone. It doesn’t mean that player feedback is ignored, it’s just that any non-fatal feedback or actions will be applied to subsequent development cycles. So once Dragonhold has settled down, the teams will begin to assess the feedback from PTS and the game and may choose to react to it.

Also they don’t necessarily share our individual objectives. They actively don’t want single overpowerful meta builds. They want 1 player’s Storm Killer to be evenly matched by another’s Fire Mountain so you can still play/win/be competitive using a variety of styles, where player skill, not player build is the deciding factor.

So you're saying that the PTS for Dragonhold is just there as a stress-test, with the actual feedback from the PTS maybe listened to later at an unnamed date and time, after the release of Dragonhold?

That is illogical on so many levels.

You forgot to add "this month".

What will it be next month, an entirely different direction, then the next update will swing wildly back to how it was before. Consistency, fine-tuning, feedback and slight adjustments here and there are all fine and to be expected, massive nuclear changes with wildly inconsistent and unpredictable changes based on whoever or whatever is flavour of the month at ZOS is not a good way to engender player participation and happiness, and unhappy players play something else.

Healing is WAY overpowered. And healing saw what changes? Oh yeah, none.

To be perfectly honest, they didn't leave healing skills completely untouched. Mending Ward was seriously reduced in strength, but I agree that it had become too strong after the previous patch. Typical healer skills that provide buffs or resource sharing were also reduced in strength and/or had their cost increased.

Seeing how healers are also expected to contribute to damage in most 4-person group content (which makes the healer's role more fun and less monotone), they are still strongly affected by the nerf to magicka dps sustain. I'm not complaining, but please don't think that healers are unaffected by this patch. It was a pretty strong nerf across the board, and I need to rethink my healer builds as well as my general approach to healing.

Im not really even mad about nerfs anymore. Like yes im still mad about how they handled the shield nerf in nerfmire, switching shields to a major minor system like everyone was saying was the correct way to handle that. Yes im still mad about my ele wall liquid lighting rotation being garbage. Really though, the thing that im most displeased with is the frequency and degree of changes. Like I spent like 6 months working on my rotation and farming gear. Spent a year and a half trying to complete vma. Did a dps test this week and im back where I started in terms of dps. I managed to beat vma twice and was feeling very confidant about it, cant do vma anymore. No im not the best player and thats my point. I want to git gudz and its very hard to do that when combat changes like this. I was feeling pretty good about pvp, was able to have a good back and forth with like a quarter of the players I ran into. I dont know how to build for pvp anymore. Dont know a good rotation for pve anymore. I dont want to put the effort into relearning these things either until the combat changes chill either. Dont want to go get new sets until Im confidant if I put in that work and upgrade them that ill be able to use them for awhile.

    Terrible.

Using cheese regen food on the dummy with a cost reduction glyph and recovery glyph, vampire, pot etc I still ran out of resources on a 6 mil.

Stam DK skills feel so clunky. they dont flow like before.. they are not firing as fast, like it just lags and takes more time to cast each skill and some will just not cast despite keeping a consistent steady rotation

This is very inherent with stone giant. The skill around a third of the time doesn't fire unless you press the button a few times....

Dots are way over nerfed. It feels terrible to play a clunky character that does 2/3rds of the damage it did. A nerf was needed but this is ridiculous.

The massive pendulum swing from patch to patch have new comers so confused. there is no consistency with the game. It has about as much direction as the bearing in a pinball machine...New players are just getting on top of the play styles and bam! all those things you just farmed for or upgraded are trash...(vMA dual wield, Sentinel,).

In addition to free skill changes we should all get compensation for the upgrades we made to all the gear that has been made redundant.

Ive all but stopped playing PVP cause of the lag and break free bugs. Now we have taken a massive step backwards in progression for PVE. I'm running out of things in the game that are keeping me interested and that is just the simple truth.
