Whatever everyone thinks of this and previous patches, do you seriously believe ZOS will even consider postponing Dragonhold launch for another four weeks?
Dream on.

Murkmire, 1t, homestead, morrowind, elsweyr, summerset are just the first one to come to my head when I think about a totally *** patch that went 100% against the players' will in terms of combat. Don't expect the dev team to consider a postponement of the patch, nor to make such fundamental changes in the last week for the better.
To add to this further as it stands this patch may cost the game a large portion of its playerbase if it goes live as is.

There you have it folk, hyperbole at its finest!
Maybe the scoreboard chasers that loved the current (easy) dot meta rotation, but the bulk of the players don't care. -all they want is new fun content.

About half of those previous patches was with the old combat team. This patch may not be as controversial but it’s at a pivotal point in the games life where this patch is putting eso at a very real risk of losing a large amount of the playerbase that still plays

I agree with the scoreboard chasers slightly- except that the easy dot meta rotation also allowed newer groups to progress harder content, and next patch are going to be gutted when they realize they do 40%+ less dps and can't raid the stuff they were clearing easily before- but what "new fun content"? the quests in dragonhold? dragonhold is bringing literally nothing interesting to the table in terms of gameplay; no new system like transmutation, no new arena or trial, not even a solo trial, just a small zone with some quests that may utilize a grapple hook. That's about it.
It's cool, but it's nothing to write home about, and definitely not worth the balance changes that are coming with it imo.

Dude, if they haven't left after the patches I mentioned (or even just last patch), they won't leave for this one. Guaranteed. It's just a sustain nerf, and it's WAAAAAAAY smaller than what happened in morrowind.

It's going to be fine. Sorcs have some new things to play with, stamblade got a little relief, and some sDKs will discover they like their new pet rock. It won't be the most fun meta for some of us, but not the worst, either. Not even close to the worst.
We'll adjust. And in three months we'll do it again.

I don't think it's about these changes in particular but the fact that at this point, people who have been playing for a while are just tired. Tired of the extreme nerfs and buffs and an ever-changing meta where you may need entirely new gear and an entirely new rotation just to keep up. Those Lokke daggers that you farmed Sunspire over and over for? Drop them for the vMA dual wield setup. Now you get to farm vMA for the set. Oh, and you'll need the Master's bow, so vDSA it is. Except now DoTs are nerfed again, so your hard-earned vMA front bar is toast. To add insult to injury, the setup was useful for about three months. Stuff like THAT is driving people away and has been for some time, but I think people are just... tired. They're not leaving the game out of indignation or anger, they just simply don't care any longer. And I can't blame them in the slightest.

Nah, you're completely wrong. It's pushing away a much much larger portion of the playerbase than you assume. We are already seeing the effects right now. Entire 500 person guilds drying up and disbanding. PVE has drastically less participation than in the past. Steam player charts showing a slump in players.
But no, I'm sure it's only the score board chasers

Is he “former” or current? I thought he was doing both. (Which would explain a lot.)
Edit: He is both. During ESO live he was billed as “Lead Combat & PvP Designer”.
