Tip of the hat to ZOS for these 2 changes.

I just wanted to thank you ZOS( I rarely like any changes you implement). Both The FACTION LOCK and MULTI BID TRADER changes were spot on !!!

Do not listen to the players complaining about them. The majority of them are UPSET that they can no longer ABUSE each of those for personal or group gain. Abuse is the reason why the changes were needed and I’m glad a price is finally being paid.

BRAVO to the ZOS and ESO team for listening to the silent majority for once. I personally hope these are the types of changes coming in the future.

How do you know what the majority wants if they are silent?

I don’t PVP very seriously, so none of the changes there mean much to me, but it seems that ZOS is stepping back from their original stance by creating another unlocked 30 day campaign.

As far as the multi bidding on traders goes, it’s hard for me to tell if it has solved anything, but I do know my bid just to keep the same location my guild had for ages has doubled. I feel like I see more locations with less than 200 items for sale than before, but maybe some of the shenanigans the bigger guilds were pulling are over.

I want to play for the underdog faction, and sometimes I just want to play with my friends. I'm currently locked to DC, which is overpopulated and completely dominating the only active campaign. Let's say this weekend I log on and my friends are locked to AD and EP, and I can't find any fights where DC isn't massively outzerging the outnumbered reds and yellows.

What should I do, in your opinion, that you wouldn't consider "abuse"? Just not play Cyrodiil?

I agree with the faction lock, but the guild trader is a bit over done, 3 bids is almost as good as 10 bids. 10 bids you have to spend so much time runner around, and keep track where you bid what so you don't over pay on less desired spots.

You don't have to do 10 bids...

And yes, I think both changes are general improvements. Apparently, a little rocky to get used to, but in a positive direction.

Faction lock was great. But since the last 4 patches PvPing in Cyrodiil have became nonviable to me due to Exclusive ESO performance issues. It's clear that ESO needs a updated Game Engine. But i doubt that would happen. ZOS is not CCP after all.

im still going to play on the faction lock server but imo what was really needed was a normal and vet cyrodiil where players were separated by account alliance points.

a lamb might only ever amount to a battlesheep but if you slaughter them to young they will just disappear altogether.

Its over. You just don't know it yet.

You choosing not to participate in a campaign isn’t anyone else’s problem ... especially not ZOS’s.

Also a Beta player, for whatever that's worth. :innocent:

I give you credit for at least saying "majority" instead of "everyone" (although how do you know?) and I am happy that faction lock solved the issue it was supposed to solve, but....

I would think those of us "in the minority" (again, an assumption you're making) that did not abuse things but were collateral damage for heavy-handed solutions should be considered since we are "the good guys" in the scenario that you are painting. Why should we/they not be listened to, just because some of the other people complaining are what you would consider to be less-than-honorable? And why are you assuming that a "complaint" is automatically requesting a complete and unacceptable (to you) reversal of the change?

Ironically I am almost completely on the other side of the fence. I am frequently happy with changes, or at least indifferent, but my day-to-day in game has been negatively impacted by both faction lock and the multi-bidding system.
    • I want all of my characters to play in the same campaign and if I could go back in time, I'd make them all the same faction. But I didn't, because I didn't know it was coming, and I was NEVER a spy or spent any efforts "turning the tides" or manipulating the campaign in any way. I was just trying to explore every aspect of the game and now my friends and I have to take care to sync up alts just to play in the same campaign. It is very annoying.
    • Multi-bidding has made things extremely difficult for my non-abusive, non-ghost-creating, non-alliance-forming, medium sized trade guild. This is beyond annoying; it is sad as I watch people work so hard to maintain a friendly community that didn't need this kind of massive disruption.
But I (and others like me) should be ignored? You'd really be against tweaks to the system that might address our difficulties while still keeping the core of the main systems intact?

That's pretty short-sighted and a little too binary. In many cases, with a little effort, multiple perspectives can often be accommodated without friction. Sheesh.

Used to be, "the silent majority," referred to all the people who have died throughout history. Clearly, OP is a necromancer.

10 bids is insane and I've watched a lot of great guilds have to fold because of it. 3 is fine, 10 is stupid to the point where people are using their real-life money for crowns that people can bid on in order to keep their spots. Pretty sure Zos is making a killing :P

Both of these changes are bad and unlike you, I'm going to explain why:

    1. Multibid system has made the gold required to get a decent trader skyrocket, and instead of losing 1 bid you now can lose up to 10 and watch other guilds spend all of their saved up gold trying to secure a spot in a second rate back hole trader. Coordination isn't just helpful anymore, its manditory.

    2. Faction lock sucks when there's only 3 servers available. I can't play with my guild anymore and god forbid the campaign is being overrun by the other alliances. Its a nice try by ZOS but its complete crap 90% of the time.
