The only things I find odd about it are (1) they did something about it years after it has been a thing, and (2) they did not do the same to all other spots in the game, (3) they really, really went overkill with the guards.

I play ESO on XBOX NA

Really, really zos? Must we kill all the fun in this game
If murder sprees on innocent NPCs are "fun" for you... you may want to seek professional help before you make the news in a bad way... and I don't mean an professional hitman... :p;)

Because someone that murders pixel people in a video game automatically want to murder people in real life?

Millions of people play video games where they kill npcs or pixel versions of other people (ie PvP) every day. I've been doing it for 30+ years. Never contemplated murdering someone in real life because I know the difference and can seperate real life from a video game.
Agreed, and I would be the last person to blame video games for IRL violence. After all... it seems people -without- video gaming were and still are a LOT more violent then those who can indulge in some video-game catharsis to vent now and then... just look at history! ;)

    That being said...

...I still think it a little morbid and tactless to call a video-game killing spree of NPCs that -DON'T EVEN- properly fight back "fun". Thats the same "fun" like hunters would have shooting a deer in a cage. The same "fun" artists would have with a "paint by numbers" setup. The same "fun" cooks would have getting an instant dinner out of the microwave. The same "fun" athletes would have driving the race course on a segway. The same "fun" readers have when someone spoils the plot twists of their new book for them.
And worse, in this case its the same "fun" griefers have messing up other peoples game enjoyment! Since, as mentioned, it IS a questing area, and NPC killing sprees kinda do detract from other peoples immersion enjoyment when they just wanna finish the questing there...

I’ll take the “we added the guards because it ruined immersion” seriously the day zenimax actually hires proper GMs to fix the botting problem. Botting has ruined my immersion far, far more regularly than the ledgermain farmers and bear farmers (who, by this logic, should also get nerfed since it is a questing area, right?)

Came to at-tura today, first time in two years, figured it was time to do legerdemain on another toon. Guards surprised the hell out of me.

    Idk what that is

place in wayrest you could kill npc's and loot the bodies. No guards to catch you so your bounty doesnt matter. Was a good way to farm ledgerman or make some money.

Go do your murder spree inside a Sacrament and don't ruin other people's immersion.

People choose to immerse themselves in a game that has all kinds of other people, including those of the criminal persuasion. Claiming that they ruin *your* immersion is such a monumental display of entitlement, the mind boggles.
