What do you do with your skillpoints?

With more skyshards and skillpoints quests being added each DLC/chapter I wonder what people do with them after they have gotten all their class/weapon/racial and crafting skills?

All world passives+undaunted+ crafting(-the research passive), + 2nd role (for example using healing on dd so i can switch)

And that uses up all your skillpoints or you still have plenty left?

    Whatever we want to!!!

For one, there are more skill lines to spend them on - guilds, legerdemain, world skill lines in some cases...

For another, some even spend them on additional options for their weapons... like, learn three skill lines and switrch up their weapons selection, or learn two armor skill lines to switch between taking and DPS...

And some also like to have a pile of skill points lying around just in case of the powers that be someday adding more skill lines, perhaps like:

I think it would also be nice if each spell had more in depth passives added to them to use skill points on like to increase the damage or add a dot effect or add a knockback effect or so

After what you mentioned and some guild skill lines, maxing a second armor and weapon line, so I can change my tank build into a bow wielding DPS for overland content.

But my main is the only one that I go out of the way to get all possible skill points(aside from Cyrodiil skyshards can't be bothered with the horse simulator), for alts I get the exact amount I need, can't be stuffed earning more than I need to, more often than not I just re spec them to do daily writs when I am not using them for extended amounts of time.

I have more than I know what to do with. Each of my characters has unused points sitting there. All it takes is skyshards grabbing, and a few quests to have more than enough.

On my main: Get all the skills I might potentially maybe use some day (but probably never will). After that, just accumulate them, like CP points.
On the alts: I just get the ones I need. That includes a few crafting skills (es. jewelry extraction) for laziness.

Once I've filled everything I need for my class and crafting skills I let the rest sit there unassigned. This way if something new comes along that I need skill points for I have them.

My main MagSorc is my only real crafter. I have all skyshards and quests done, so I maxed out crafting and still have points on him. The others just put skill points into hirelings so there are plenty even without getting every skill point available.

I like that there are far more skill points available than needed as there is no way I'd play my alt characters if it required a choice between re-running every quest chain and collecting every skyshard or spending a ridiculous amount on crown store unlocks.

My main character doesn't even have every skill point available (though has most), but has all class and weapon skills and passives along with guild lines (those that actually benefit character - I don't spend points on stuff that has no affect), a lot of crafting, and still has points not allocated.

Level things I haven't used but may need later. I have everything researched so I don't need those 12 points(I think 12...) and have just leveled all of the skills within a skill tree just because you never know when skills will be buffed and be needed to be top DPS.

I haven't yet got to the point of having unused skill points just sitting there. Most of my characters have crafting ranks they'd like to raise or other weapon lines to develop.

Probably not needed. More balancing issues and an illusion of choice with the current system. If you dump your skill points for pve/pvp skills and then dump them for crafting you’ll need to have collected a LOT of sky shards or finished a lot of story quests. The crafting portion takes quite the amount of points.

Rather than more advanced selection of skills I would prefer they buff up the underpowered ones so we have reason to use more varied builds and explore the skill system.

I'm no where near having all of the available skill points on any character and I'm already putting them into things I don't need - morphing skills I don't use, unlocking skills I don't use etc. I try to pick the best use from the available options each time but I'm sure I've put a lot of points into things I've never used.

But like other people have said I prefer being able to get more skill points than I know what to do with rather than having to go out of my way to do content I don't want to repeat (or at least not on this character) just to get enough skill points.

I enjoy doing the zone wayshrine / skyshard / delve runs so I tend to have more than enough. Only my to be crafter may have to worry about that if I actually start crafting some day.

My chars barely have enough skill points to get all of the combat and QoL skills for 2 roles (with situational support skills), along with crafting. And it doesn't help that the older (pre-morrowind) chars are lacking one skill point due to an oversight/bug that ZOS is refusing to fix for 2.5 years.

So I have no idea what you're talking about. There aren't enough skill points. In fact, my warden (so post-morrowind char who is not affected by the aforementioned bug) is forced to play bow/bow when he's a DD, because there aren't enough skill points to put in DW or 2h after bow, 1hs and destro staff (the latter 2 needed for tanking obviously). And I'm not going to give up on autopick from legerdemain or quicker bounty reduction from thieves guild to get it, much less my ability to just swap gear to become a tank, or crafting.

That's also the reason I despise the fact that 50 skill points are hidden behind a gigantic grind in a cancerous game mode that I have no chance of ever collecting on even one char, much less 9.

The only skill points I don't have are 30 more from Alliance War ranking. I have all skills and passives maxes out for my class, destruction staff, healing staff, soul magic, mages guild, undaunted, psijic, Alliance War. I have most for crafting, minus the hirelings and research. I have most for other guild lines, not taking passives I'm not using for thieves guild and dark brotherhood. There are a few passives in vampire I'm not using as well (vampire needs fewer skill points than werewolf).

I'm leveling up the skill lines for the other weapons even though I don't use them (just have bow left to get to 50), and I think it works out that I can put a skill point in to every skill. Just so I'd be able to know all skills. If I got those remaining Alliance War skill points I could pad out some passives as well.

Even with my allocation, for me to max out all skills and all passives for the weapons classes we are a few years away at the current rate of skill points per year.

If one is so completionist they want to level up every skill, resetting skill points is still a possibility. Unless I'm missing something one may not have every skill available at same time, but one can have all ready levelled including morphs.

I'm just looking for something to do. It costs me nothing to put skills I don't use on my bar when I turn in dailies to get exp in them. I'd have enough skill points to unlock the unmorphed skills at the same time, not have skill points in all the morphs at the same time.
