Right off the back of every dot being made to cost exactly the same and do the same damage making the game exceedingly bland... the balance team turns around and Makes "Winters Revenge" buffed by 80% to "Make it stand out"

I think the Combat team need to get a blank sheet of paper, make some chamomile tea, do some yoga and have a calm talk about vision and direction of combat as a whole, and then tackle 1 class then work on how to make a unique parity between the other classes.

At the moment it looks like headless running around and putting out fires, if this ain't working, don't roll out "Something new" just for the sake of it, think about it and give us something *good*

    This is a good idea. I just can’t see how pvp will be close to being balanced after all these changes.

    I think that will be this coming patch by far. It’s always hard to tell but looking solely at healing abilities it won’t be pretty.

    Hopefully yea. Won’t happen though, if defense/healing was balanced across classes some would scream their head off. They’ve had an advantage too long.

    Actually I had the same thought.
    Kinda useless to make standards just to create " rule breaker" right after.
    I think the way they approached DK dots via passives, was the right way to go.

    It is true that "Winters Revenge" was flavorless weak skill that needed adjustments but the way they decided to go about it is kinda lazy.

    Class DOTs should be excluded from standardisation.

    My example of how they should manage DOTS:

    (CP not included)

    DOTs that last longer than 10 seconds = x2 damage of a spammable (which they compare them too)


    0-4 seconds = 1.25x multiplier
    5-10 seconds = 1.5x multiplier
    Dk’s 5-10 second DOTs = 1.75x multiplier

    Cost increases and reductions should depend on how long the DOT lasts for and the damage it has. But it should still have unique varieties. (you’d think this would be common sense)

    No they don’t. They’re standardized now. They were initially nerfed by just 50% instead of 63%.

    I dont see the problem in all the dot dealing the same amount of damage.
    Having ones stronger than others would mean everybody would slot the strongest.
    They differ in the "added effect" so players can choose which one suits them better

    It's not the Standardising that is my gripe, It is the Schizophrenic
    "Buff Soul trap and entropy... Now Kill Soul trap and Entropy and make all other DoTs match to tickle the enemy into submission because we forgot PVP allows 10 players to stack Soul Trap on 1 player,
    so instead of fixing that we will create a new problem and oh golly gee the community don't like it, ok guys rule breakers and buffs all around, Trust us, we here at ZOS have a clear plan and road mapfor the next 6 months and we have changed it every week, hope you enjoy giving guild traders your Gold while trashing Tempers and transmute stones every 3 months.

    Heck, some of my toons have not even ranked soul trap to IV yet and it became almost irrelevant, we don't have a focused build to work toward because combat isn't Evolving or being tweaked, it is being torched to the ground and whole skills are transformed in function or identity.

    Is it really that hard for them to give every class a self heal for mag and stam, a class ground DoT and Single target DoT, a spamable and then some class flavour skills, while Weapons are available to any class and roll that do similar solid damage, heck if they are adamant that Hybrid Builds are a thing, just change all damage to use your highest pool + Penetration for calculation while using the relevant resource to cast.
    All I want is for them to give us the cohesive vision for us to gear up for

    I'm Meaning Parity as in each class has a niche but similar power as opposed to the ZoS Parity of Every class functions exactly the same,
    Beep Boop, PvE dummy hump subroutine execute, Potion, Ultimate, Wall, insert Class ground DoT, Beast trap, Swap, insert ST DoT, insert spam spam spam swap.

    @Vapirko Oh right, I missed that in 5.2.0 entropy and soultrap were only nerfed by 50% instead of 63% like all other other single target dots, which is why they are being buffed by 20% instead of 33% now.

    Holy *** it's hard to work out where skills stand right now.

    Maybe, but I doubt Winters Revenge will be a cause of any imbalance. :)
