Yeah, sure, if you want. I don't think you need permission.

The game is much easier than people think and all it takes is a couple of things to click, through practice as you've said.

    Most people who can't, don't.

    So props.

Not all the game is "much easier" nor "all it takes is a couple of clicks". Go to some trials HM's with all dps players doing 40k and less, or to some DLC dungeons HM's with the two dps doing 40k and less, and tell me how easy they are and how they do clicking a couple of things...

Heck yeah! That’s pretty freaking good really. Even stuck at 25k is pretty good imo.

Well done both for the improvement, but the number as well; you can do everything in this game, save perhaps a couple of fights. That's definitely on par, I'd say!

    You should be proud.

You have made a real improvement.

Hopefully it’s made your time in game more enjoyable.

    Don’t let anyone disparage that.

Keep having fun in the game

Basically, with 40k DPS you can do any dungeon, vet, or HM, but you DO need to know what the hell the mechanics are.
You'd need a bit more to get into vet trials though,

    Good job.

Would not call 40K subpar at all, if you were managing 10K or less that I would consider that subpar but 40K is plenty to clear most VET content in the game, not top of the leader boards or first pick as a DPS for VET trials but enough that you should never find yourself kicked from any dungeons.

You made an effort to improve DPS that is more than a lot of players ever do, you should be proud, would rather have the group finder give me someone like you than most of the DPS I get when queuing on my tank.

You misinterpreted "click" - In reference to his post, yes, all it takes is a couple of "things to click" - I.e. Figuring out how to weave; learning boss rotations so you know what to do when they do; figuring out ani cancelling etc; - When those "things click" you don't forget them and are instantly better.

When it comes to HM's and endgame, no it's not easy, but not everybody should be entitled to complete and or compete in that content just because they own the game - The same way you and I are not racing in F1 every weekend just because we can drive. Not to mention, for all of the players who do complete that content "things click".

Yes.. very proud of knocking out a stationary/mobilized dummy to get a couple numbers. Ha ha ha. ZOS should implement dps counter or whatever calculations the same from a target dummy to real bosses; such as soloing a world boss or even a boss in a normal dungeon or something. Heck, put a calculation on the big bad scorpion at the scorpion ravine in Craglord; it has 3 mil hp.

yes, of knocking out a dummy to get high numbers. that was my exact goal. i’ve solo’d enough wb’s and dungeons in my time on eso and done vma more times than i can count thanks.

Our guild requires 28k dps for vTrials and I have done them all (except vSS, no time yet) with well below 40k. With the exception of the odd HM in vTrials you can do them all just fine

Hell yes! I don't know how long it takes others, but it took me months and months of work to clear 40k and I was absurdly proud as well, and you should be too. Nice job and congrats!

40k is subpar? i do everything with between 25-35k dps but i only go with randoms/pugs and from what combat metrics addon telling me, i do my part pretty good (45-55 percent dps in vet dungeons, AND 10-14 percent dps on trials)

But these are randoms that sometimes buff me enough and sometimes dont.

I would need to know what context that 40k is. 3 mil, 6 mil, 21 mil?

If it's 3 or 6 mil then I would say you way above average. Most people can't break 30k. I would say 35k is the point you enter endgame.

Now 40k on a 21 mil is a bit low, but still probably average.

Either way the DPS is far from subpar. You are showing that you have the capability to improve based on the jump from 25k to 40k. That alone makes me feel confident in your DPS.

Yeah, agree with the above. With 40k dps you can dps practically everything in the game. Sure, you can tryhard your way to 50k+, but at some point, we need to remember it's a game, not work. I'd run with you any day if you're packing 40k!

    So yeah, be proud!

If you can do 40k on the 6 mil, you are doing just fine my friend. Especially if that isn't Raid gear with Slayer and whatnot.

If you don't mind me asking @valkyrie93 what made you decide that you wanted to improve you DPS and how did you go about doing it?

the guild I'm in requires 40k dps to be eligible to take part in all endgame vet content (hm runs etc). so that's the main factor. but i've always wanted higher dps, because i /can do/ endgame content. i've plenty of experience following mechanics, but my parses were never as high as others (ppl on the forums, in guild etc) maybe average, but that's it. went through a few phases of being discouraged after doing a few parses over some time, but I never trained HARD. so i spent 2 days just training on a dummy and not ragequitting after the number wasn't as high as i wanted, as that's what i'd done before which prevented my progress.

my bf also has higher dps than me, he can reach high numbers with (seemingly xD) less effort even though he's practiced a lot too. I had some advice from him. I also downloaded the Constellations addon to see what CP i could possibly change to help (turns out i had no where near enough CP in spell penetration) and Light Attack counter addon to help me track my light attack weaving. these really helped too..

Honestly? In end game we try to look at everything as "progression", and as long as there is improvement and/or growth, it's positive. You should absolutely be proud of where you are relative to where you started. It shows you're willing to put in some work. Keep moving forward!
