I have no idea why people talk about "absent" gods. It was Akatosh who blessed Alessia so she could overthrow the Ayleid tyrants. Who kept the pact of the Dragon Fires.
And where were you when the avatar of Akatosh himself battled and defeated Mehrunes Dagon to throw him back to Oblivion, saving Nirn ? (Probably not playing Oblivion, I guess. )
Of course, he's a real divine being, and thus only appears at world changing events, not some pedestrian chaos ball, adopting every stray misanthrope and blabbering on about darkness and murder, so maybe he gets overlooked...

Different criteria I guess. I'm more interested in characters then ass kickery. I always found lawful good characters a bit boring. But I must admit it was a tough choice here.

Given that Akatosh created Alduin and the rest of the dragons, I think calling him Lawful Good is a bit of a stretch. Lawful Neutral, perhaps, or maybe even just Neutral. He only really cares about the world not ending; short of that, he has a few favorites but that's about it.
