You know, it just occurred to me why the player population started dropping off with the release of Elsweyr in June. That's when they ended CP progression. People felt like there was no more tangible "leveling up", so to speak.... and lost interest.

i think it would already be enough that if they buff something, they do so 15-20% and if the nerf something they do the same instead of buffing and nerving only 50, 60, 80% which just shows me you have no clue wtf you are doing - regardless of how often they claim they have now standards and templates and tools to determine power budgets - thats all NONSENSE - if that was the case there wouldnt be that large swings with regards to buffs and nerfs.

    CP progression ended with Wrathstone.

The sad thing is, I don't think they care about losing customers. They care more about attracting and burning through players who will quickly leave than keeping those who have been playing long term. [/quote]

I thought this too, after all, it's the veterans that have reached the limits of skills and power that has the loudest and especially most frequent of voices.

The casual player probably could not care less about pvp crashes and you never hear them complaining about how trials are easy pz.

Rebels are just bad for business and PR

Yes, my bad. Wrathstone released end of February (PC) and mid-March (consoles.)

Maybe it really is for the yo-yo nerf parade then.

It takes a lot of effort to learn all the things in this game, skill line mechanics, sets, etc - AGAIN. :|

I wonder if Zos is targeting the "meta" builds so hard because they want new players to catch up to the people that have every zone completed. The people waiting on new content just for something fresh. Seems daunting to new people in the game when they see level 1k people with multiple crafters complaining about end content when the new player hasn't even farmed a full set or two.
It really sucks to rethink builds and "adapt". Cowards Gear with Twicebornstar still gets me through pve content using a magicka setup in medium armor. With Dark Deal I have a really fast farming sorc...

I haven't noticed any drastic unpleasant changes in the years I've been playing.

Don't read the patch notes and complain about the changes without testing it out in the PTS first.

Also, I quit reading patch notes 2 years ago because they used to scare me.

People were complaining about the changes to healers and, to be completely honest, my healer now outperforms than she did before the alleged nerfs.

Changes are never as bad as they appear on paper (or in text for this matter).

the idea behind all of this is that with a baseline they can eventually balance everything evenly and safely and not have to do the sweeping changes anymore, but since everything has been out of whack since the game's conception it requires crazy changes to do so.

their attempt to bring single target dots in line was a bad attempt at that. They realized it was a horrible idea and have quickly gone back on it. now they're doing t he whole math thing of spam = 1 aoe = 1.25 st = 1.5 or whatever. which is great. but not when the value of 1 has been cut in half since last patch.

i'm also sick of major crazy changes every patch now. I hope next year sees more stability, but since it's coming with the set "Audit" (word they used to buff ST dots by 150% then nerf by 139051935%) it's probably going to ruin all of our golded sets and make everyone refarm new sets 5 times next year. not excited. probably won't be playing by then anyway.

It might also have something to do with Elsweyr as a chapter (zone, story, etc).

Morrowind: Return to a very famous and nostalgic Elder Scrolls game, along with a lush zone full of creativity.

Summerset: Traditional fantasy with elves, beautiful zone with long beaches.

Elsweyr: A desert filled with cats, with most of them speaking in third person. The introduction to Dragons couldn't save it.
