If you want us to play in Imperial City, you need to disable the gankers camping outside the bases

I do not PvP as a rule. Because I am interested in having all the Indrik mounts, I am participating in the Imperial City event. And, let me state I really don't mind having to go into the sewers as usually my guild gets a run going once a day.

HOWEVER

I am fed up with the gankers camping the entrance to the sewers from the base camps. Quite frankly, I am fed up with the gankers all together. How many changes have the regular players had to endure because of the noisy minority? They are not the ones buying the houses, horses, furnishings and the like. The regular, PvE players are the ones spending most of the real world money. YET, we lost Earthgore (nerfed to useless) because PvP complained. Earthgore was DAMN hard to get, and there is NO way in hell that what the player went through to achieve that helm is worth the *** heal it is today! They can go invisible, but the day trippers like myself can't utilize our good PvE gear? I had a guildie try the sewers on her own for the first time the other night. Just her luck, gankers right outside base, invisible. She was ganked and camped so she couldn't even res AND came out of the experience traumatized. She will NEVER go back.

If you insist (and apparently you do, as this is not the first time) on making Cyrodiil/Imperial City mandatory during events, it seems only fair to me that you disable the advantage being invisible in a PvP area gives to certain players. OR do something so that people who want to participate aren't used as AP sources for regular PvP players. Or is ZoS feeding the noisy yet again by giving them easy kills? There is NO skill in killing a PvE player who is just there to get the ticket.

I enjoy the occasional run through PvP areas with my guildies and I accept that I will die. What I won't accept is the campers and the gankers who make each and every Cyrodiil event a misery. ZoS has seemingly been catering to the PvP player for ages now - if you want us to play in that area, you have to make it a little more fair for the "average" player.

Reminds me of the days when the first Unreal Tournament came out. People were camping the spawn points, delivering headshots from a safe distance (usually with the sniper rifle) to people zoning into the map.

Dead on arrival, over and over and over again

If arriving dead out of a loading screen sounds like your kind of fun, the IC sewers are the perfect place to be ...

Imperial City is NOT mandatory for Event Tickets!

Just kill the final boss of Imperial City Prison or White Gold Tower.

    Also as a PVPer..

Gankers in locations where they are supposed to be are playing PVP as intended. That's fine. Get good. Everyone who PVPs has to. Detect Pots are great.

Gankers/Campers in locations they reached via unintended use of skills are not okay and deserve to be reported. They need to get good enough to gank properly instead of relying on load screens to deliver them a stream of easy, unintended kills.

If there are campers, and you really want to do the IC Sewers...
    A. Bypass them by entering a District via the ladders in your base, then drop into the sewers from the district well behind the campers
    B. To return, use a Sigil of Imperial Retreat or queue for a different campaign
    C. Try a different campaign

Ganking and going where you’ll def get a fight is a part of PvP. Personally I fully expect enemy players to pop up at any moment in IC - and that probability goes through the roof if you’re doing PvE or in the “just about home” parts of the sewers. I’m rarely disappointed,

I find that fun and challenging. But as others have said, if you don’t you can run the normal IC dungeons for your tickets.

Killing people as they load in because you were able to cheat the system to get somewhere that you were not supposed to should not be "part of PvP"

What you never heard of detect pots? Lol.

Me and a buddy of mine went down to the AD base door on our MagDk’s (shortly after he exposed some crap streamer live on his stream in a few duels lol). We fought whoever showed up. It’s PvP.

Source? Because I PvP almost exclusively and I'm ESO+ with multiple fully-furnished houses etc. So are many of my guildmates. Spend a little time in Cyrodiil and you'll see a lot of players with really nice mounts. I don't get the sense they spend less on the game than other players.

I'm not defending the practice that you're complaining about of course. I dropped down a grate into the sewers from the City a couple of nights ago and, when I came out of the 60 second load screen, 12 AD were performing unnatural acts on my corpse (and I was considerably lighter on Tel Var)

Was I a bit salty? Yep. But I picked up a few Sigils from the vendor and now I don't try to make my way "home" any more.

I empty my pockets before going back into the sewers, so if I'm ganked leaving base, they don't get any Tel Var for their troubles.

Lol, ganking is like a core playstyle to the PvP zones. Don’t like it? Do the dungeons to get your tickets or learn how to counter a ganker.

They corpse camped her in the base at the spawn point? I went ahead and filed this under things that never happened.

There have been 4 campaigns up consistently and you can bypass the door right from the base. Pick a different campaign and/or use the ladders to get around the gankers. If people can't handle such basic tactics then they can do the PVE portion of the event. Being able to run into the sewer and get your tickets in under 5 minutes is not covered in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

What you all fail to understand is that there IS another event where one MUST PLAY in Cyrodiil. Like I said, I don't hate PvP, but I don't love it either. From the viewpoint of the embittered healer who lost their best proc with Earthgore, I am FED UP with the catering to PvP players. It sure wasn't PvE who endlessly complained about Earthgore now was it?

IF guildies are running either of the two options, I may run them, but again, those who are available are up for only limited repeats of the same dungeon and don't even bother telling me to just wait for PUG groups where tanks are really dps.

My complaint is there is a limited way for those of us who want event tickets to accomplish the quest. I have never seen an impediment to a PvP player who wants to participate in a PvE area. If I have half an hour to accomplish something, I would prefer to do it on my own (today I changed domains and easily did it). The treatment of PvE players by SOME PvP players is wrong, and the camping of other bases for the purpose of killing PvE is one of them.

lol, it’s constantly “PvP people always get special treatment!” And “PvE gets all the special treatment!”. Fact is that ZOS doesn’t cater specifically to any playstyle.

Instead of hating on it, expect to die and learn from your deaths. Shout “LFG” in zone chat to get teamed up with people who do PvP on the regular and learn from them. Zerg it out a bit. It’s a great way to learn how to better play those zones so you can gain the confidence to break into smaller groups or go solo. Have PvP specific gear is a huge help too.

I get it. I used to hate the crap out of PvP until I took the time to learn it and get a build going for it. Now it’s my 2nd favorite thing to do in ESO.

You can go up to city then use sewers to come back down. You can craft potions for invisibility. You can create groups and rush the group.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

I haven't run into any ADs or EPs camped out on the DC platform yet, but that might be due to the time when I usually head to the sewers for tickets, or maybe it's the campaigns I've chosen. I've been killed again and again by roving mobs of ADs and EPs, but so far none of them have been up on the (supposedly) "safe" platform.

I'm kind of surprised at how much I've been enjoying this event. It's definitely gotten me interested in the sewers, which until now has always been a place I'd avoided like the plague after a few ill-fated visits. I'm no longer afraid to set foot in there, I'm able to find my way around.

I've started to tentatively venture into AD and EP territory to see if I can discover all of the discoverable locations, collect the skyshards, and maybe tackle the group bosses. So far that doesn't last too long before I get discovered and killed, but it isn't going to stop me from trying. :)
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

    Yes, there is Midyear Mayhem.

I think you misunderstand the point of events. They are Marketing Stunts designed to highlight parts of the game. Marketing Stunts within the giant Marketing Stunt that is the Indrik Event Ticket shindig. If you won't do those parts of the game highlight this time, you are SOL.

    Won't steal/murder?
You are SOL during the TG/DB event. Twice!

    Won't run dungeons?
You are SOL during the Undaunted event.

Want nothing to do with Imperial City as a zone AND won't run the dungeons?
You are SOL during this event designed to highlight ALL of Imperial City.

ZOS doesnt care whether you enjoy it or not. Its a Marketing Stunt. If you want the rewards, you have to dance to Marketing's tune. Or pay Marketing for your Event Tickets.

As for Midyear Mayhem, ZOS Marketing wants you to PVP. You get to decide whether to dance to the beat of the Imperial (City) March, the Cyrodiil Cha-Cha, do the Battlegrounds Boogie, or just sit out on the side of the dance floor whining that other people are winning prizes for their dancing. Or just quietly sit out because you don't like dancing, but it doesnt bother you that others are.

    That's 100% up to you.

Earthgore was nerfed becauee it was OP all alround. Don't pull the whole skills nerfed because of pvp when its mostly pve why things are changed. Thing is pve mobs can't give feedback, if you relied on earthgore to save you in pve then you deserved to die instead of randomly being saved by a monster set.

Stop exagerratting because the content is more difficult than just spam 1 rotation at static dungeons. They came out 'traumitised' lmao.

Honestly 'ganker's are so bad now if you die to one its your fault. Don't run around on a non optimal build and then cry when you die because of it.

It's like going into a trial with no sets and then crying you can't do it.

Fyi earthgore wasn't hard to get, the dungeon wasn't that hard.

    Gankers are free kills.

Hit the nail on the head. PVERS are the node, to be farmed.

Ganking is a play style in this game. It is not supposed to be liked. If people are hating gankers, then the gankers are doing it right. It is OKAY, GOOD to hate gankers. If you like a ganker then that ganker really sucks at his job.

    *shrugs*

That said, don't fall prey to gankers so easily. If you have damage aoe equipped, cast it; keep your hots going; keep your defenses up.

Imperial City is NOT mandatory for Event Tickets!

Just kill the final boss of Imperial City Prison or White Gold Tower.

Doing the Event itself is not mandatory either. Wait for the next Event when it suits your playstyle better.

Players are the nodes, who can fight back if they choose to.

I question the wisdom of queuing up for a PVP-enabled zone without making at least some effort to be harder to kill than the average mudcrab.

If you want some help with that, I have some advice here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/492278/pvpve-during-the-imperial-city-celebration-2019

While I am totally on the "it's a pvp area" train and Ive been having a decent time killing the base campers and taking their stones (over 5 k in one hour last night...thanks!)

I do feel that the base campers could give them a 10 minute break once in a while so the visitors a chance to get their tickets and stop complaining.

Camping on the ledge by the exit door is unintended and probably an exploit. Camping on the floor is allowed.

But beyond that...players in IC who want tickets have other options than walking out their home base door into the sewers.
    A. Enter the districts from their base and kill a district boss
    B. Enter the districts from their base, then enter the sewers away from the campers to kill a boss in the sewers

Or C. Avoid Imperial City and run WGT or ICP instead.

Ganking and killing someone in a loadscream while they trans from a zone, are NOT the same thing.

As much as I hate PvP, that’s just not a good idea. It’s a PvP zone and it is a viable strategy. Cowardly imo, but viable.

    The issue here isn't ganking.

The faction bases were designed to have an exit on a platform that can be attacked from, but is not supposed to be accessible from the ground. This is different than a regular blue safe zone because it's intended to give those exiting a base an advantage over people camping the exit -- much like a keep wall.

That mechanic is not working as intended because gap closers are currently able to access that platform when they're not supposed to be able to. I would guess it's a mistake related to the changes made to how gap closers function not too long ago.

This has happened before after changes made to gap closers allowed players to access areas they were not intended to. A precedent was set then that exploiting that bug could result in action taken on one's account. It should also apply here.

The PvP in this game is terrible and it's not like they'll be making new types of PvP modes in the future. I do wonder how big the PvP population is in this game?

I'm a new players, so running white gold tower once a day for tickets is fine for me.
