The amazing beauty of character building towards PVP

My newly discovered interest in PVP gave this game entire new dimension and made me realize how much this game has to offer. I used to spend countless hours in front of a training dummy, but pvp is another dimension when it comes to playing with builds!

I am having SO FREAKING much fun doing following:

- Checking out builds online! Dottzgaming and Kristofer ESO make me super hyped and are the reason why i went from 1 main to now 15 characters that im getting ready for PVP!
- Leveling up my chars and seing the progression. I have a excel sheet where i write down all the aspects of my chars while preparing them for PVP @ Max level, all skills and guildlines, skillpoints etc.
- Putting together builds myself, testing them out and mostly getting 100% obliterated in above 50 BGs. Just reading the abilities and getting a better understanding of the classes! Then checking out Dottz and Kristofers opinions on the same skills and why they thing they suck or are good!
- Making top notch gear for my under 50 chars and thus having a change in BGs, and even dominating at times. I know im carried by the gear mostly, but for now thats ok. I get a realitycheck as soon as i step into above 50 BGs. I really enjoy making these temporary builds though!
- Asking questions on the forums to better understand the things i do not currently understand.
- Copying the "perfect" build that somebody else made and getting DESTROYED in PVP because i dont really understand how to use it, positioning and my weaknesses and strengths!

i FREAKING LOVE all these things. When im not working, or working out OR spending time with my girlfriend... or getting my MCSA certification... THIS is basically all i do and its just amazing.

It’s the only thing left keeping me here..sadly it seems to get worse every update..cyro wise..BG‘s seem to be the same setup every match so it’s getting stale

I also like tinkering with my build and if i get tired of one char i swap to one of the others, luckily you can do fine without being meta BiS

Would probably help if i didn’t run solo every time i pvp (don’t be like me, find a guild you like and run with them)

Welcome! Despite the what the haters and meta hoppers say PvP offers so much more personalization and horizontal skill based progression. Sadly that has diminished over the years as people blame more things on cheating and exploits instead of learning the game so ZOS has forced the ceiling down considerably. But it’s still fun. And don’t believe anyone when they say you have to play this class or this or that set. If you can get it to work for you it’s a good build.

Oh that’s such BS. Streamers and YTers stick to CP primarily because that’s literally the only place that open world PvP exists regularly and yes it lets you extend your build a bit further but they’re also playing against people with CP so it’s not like they’re the only ones. And a LOT of streamers regularly play BGs. They just typically queue solo because of GF issues and then it really depends on your team. Some people I tell ya.

I only run solo so im JUST like you. Loving it though, im being forced to think more about my own healing and survivor. Lone wolf mentality!

It's why I'm broke in game. Spent on gear and respecs constantly for the longest time, although it got better once you could change just morphs.

My advice use all the inputs from others as a baseline, however always try to create what you enjoy playing because you will succeed, have fun.

PS, I went from 10 builds now to 2.5 so 2 really. Don't be affraid to dump a build even if people online seem to be very good with it. If its not for your move on.

The cost of having this many chars and builds is huge in irl money but i concider this to be my hobby so its a calculated expense. I would never have the time to farm skysahards so being able to buy them gave me new possibilities!

This perfectly described my experience playing the pre-Morrowind nerf Blazeplar: the moment I learned that no build will carry me in PVP no matter how much the forums assure me that it is the most OP thing to ever wreck face and take names in Cyrodiil. I was going to have to practice and learn to play the hard way.

That being said, I had a ton of help from experienced PVPers who were willing to offer advice and train me. So I hope you also get the help you need with your questions!

This is exactly why many of us still pvp despite years of poor performance. I've tried some other mmo's while mainly playing eso, but none of them have better horizontal progression and a relatively accessible gearing system.

I use the same exact build in noCP and CP on all my characters and it is, in fact, stronger in noCP if you take other players power and ability into account.

PvP is great fun. I personally like the large scale keep and open field battles in Cyrodiil. Although I mostly run solo I still have a build that is mostly for team play. Lots of ways you can build for PvP.

Imho PvP is the true end game of this game. I'm an altoolhic, I've played every magica / stamina spec (except necro, I'm still leveling my Magicka and Stamina Necromancer). Even if I'm garbage with most of them, I just can't get enough of playing battlegrounds / Cyrodiil with my various alts. PvP in this game is so much fun! It's really brilliant. Lot of options and lot of different playstyles. Any class / spec has its pro and its cons. When I was playing only one spec I thought that there were some OP classes . When I started playing those classes, I realized that it's not as easy as it looks. Anything can work if put in the right hands, and on the other side: you can have a top tier class and a really good build, but if you are not good at playing it, the gear / spec alone will not be enough to carry you.

I dunno about all that. Some of the better streamers on twitch play a ton of BGs (or almost exclusively).

It is not only to be a good player, you can have good reactions and perform well but, it is about understanding of the mechanics as well,
Kristofer ESO is decent, you can check Deltia's Gaming and Fengrush youtube channels / sites.

If you are into Werewolf PvP, soon i will have release my latest savage build for WW with easy to obtain gear and very beginner friendly

OP mentioned he’s the same as me, thus solo content creators would suit him better

But I am NOT saying don’t watch the others as they have insight that can benefit solo pvp‘rs too
