Housing QOL

Three things that would make housing more awesome (in my completely biased opinion):

1: Increase furnishing limit. Ideally, increase the total limit for all furnishings substantially. I haven't started furnishing my Grand Psijic Villa and I currently have no plans to; given how enormous it is I know there is no way I will be able to fully furnish it with the current cap. For reference, my fully furnished Pariah's Pinnacle is currently at 673/700 and it is only a fraction of the size of the Grand Psijic Villa. Additionally, it would be nice to increase the special furnishing limit. Even though I have 27 generic slots free, I am unable to place any more of my camel mounts since there are only 10 slots available for mounts/assistants :(

2: Make housing giftable. At the current excange rate on TCE being 225:1, players would save about 1mill gold buying an unfurnished notable home via gold for crowns as opposed to paying gold directly to the crown store. Players would get a discount this way, and ZOS gets to sell more crowns instead of just having homes purchased by gold be an infrequent gold sink. Seems like a win-win to me.

3: Create additional areas for existing houses. Almost like an in-house dlc that unlocks more area similar to what the tablets do for the new elswyr house. For players that are content with having one well furnished house rather than several, it would be really cool if you could continue upgrading them rather than furnishing it once and being done with it. For example, creating a new lookout area/structure at the top of the waterfall in pariah's pinnacle would be pretty awesome.

Gee, increase the slot limits on housing.....no one has ever suggested that before....

    /sarcasm

Do a forum search on "increase housing slots"

You'll see what seems like at least 100 threads on the topic and also why they cant increase the limits

Would be nice but its not going to happen any time soon

I’d be happy if they actually created housing where the rain didn’t come through the structures. The Lunar Temple and the Grotto in Summerset both suffer from rain falling under roofed areas. I understand they are suppose to be ancient ruins...but the rain shouldn’t be falling into the “living” area for housing. I even put up a tent and there again, the rain comes pouring in.
If they can’t design homes properly, why in the world would people want to buy them or furnishings for them? There is a lot of refinement that should be happening to keep up the quality standard that use to be...unfortunately it isn’t. I too may dispense with my eso plus subscription, why pay if no one is listening.

There may have been explanations of why the slot limits exist, but nothing explains why the houses are designed to be so much larger than the limits will fill.

Give us smaller homes, so the slot limits make sense. And I don't mean offering more homes in the smaller categories, I mean making a Medium house the size of a Small, etc. Keep the price range the same, as it represents the slots, rather than the building, but make the house fit the limit better.

Some of this is also caused by needing large numbers of separate items, where a composite would be better. A bookcase, plus books, versus a filled bookcase. This is starting to be addressed, with filled bookcase, and wine racks with bottles, but the pace should be accelerated.

The rain doesn’t fall in the room of the second wing of HotLC but it would be great if there could be some collision detection to keep rain out of tents and player-constructed builds. :)

100% agree with having the option to increase furnishing limits and would love more NPCs to place in homes! More building materials or even pre-made homes (like the Khajiit house on stilts) with more lovely open properties like Moonsugar Meadow would be awesome to let players build the house the way — whether that’s a grand palace or a small cottage nestled in a forest.

I’d also love to see more apartment-type homes, especially in Vvardenfell!
