It would be nice to have a revamp of the way addons are managed within ESO. What with many more than usual trying to make the move to Linux now and the introduction of Stadia (not sure how addons would be utilised if it is all done server side), addons might become difficult to manage for many. What I would really like to see regarding addons is this:
1) Move the addons folder out of My Documents and into the base directory of where ESO is installed. This way any OS knows where to find the information.
2) Create a front end with a similar appearance to the crown store, of the ESOUI website (or alternative) to replace the existing Addon menu, where people can download, browse, update and enable addons.
3) Automatically installs (and uninstalls) dependencies such as libraries when an addon is installed/uninstalled.
4) Cloud syncs the user data associated with the addon, not to be confused with addon data.
- User data - Your config files in menu settings, usually very light weight
- Addon data - The data the addon may generate, such as MMDATA files generated from guild stores.
I suspect something like this would be on the way for addons to function in Stadia (could be wrong). This would then introduce the potential for addons on console as well. It would make OS hopping so much easier too. ESO works fine on linux, and with a bit of hassle addons too, Minion is pretty fiddley.
