Do you like DPSing in this patch? Do you enjoy and prefer the Magicka dot cool down game?

4/5 or 80% grade in my mind. I think it'll go up over time though (strictly DPS enjoyment, not referring to other performance issues or bugs)

Meh.

On my stam sorc I got to break out that old Briarheart set I'd stashed on a mule, use Arrow Barrage for probably the first time ever, and actually drain my magicka pool with Soul Trap.

With more practice, I'll get the rotation down, but I'm not sure its worth trying to swap any other DD characters over to the new meta.

For me, in terms of pure dps enjoyment, this is the worst patch ever.

It's really not as much different as people are making it out to be for pve dps. All that changed for me was swaping mage light for soul trap and twisting path for degeneration. Sure I miss the amount of cleave damage I did before the patch but other than that, nothing really changed. Oh and I switched from ele weapon, which I hated, back to swallow soul.

I feel like the Magicka mindless button pressing in a row for each dots boring and meaningless to different enemies and fights and situations.
Last patch we’re able to drop aoe dots on back bar, then switch to front bar and use our brain to target the prioritised target enemies.
Now it’s like playing arcade game with button combos, no brain required for what buttons to push, just press all in a row.
Where previous patch we were able to use skills for different situations.
That’s how I feel so far, and can’t wait for future patch of changes.

My DPS on my magden has skyrocketed. I know that 3 mil parses aren't super important any longer, but I just cleared 50k last night, up from 43k pre-Scalebreaker. She's at 78k on the 21 mil dummy, which is my personal best across characters. However, the rotation's really hard to keep up in real fights, so the DPS disparity between dummy and trials/dungeons is jarring. She still feels strong though.

My stamblade, however... as one of my guildies put it, "they turned my ninja into a potato". The raw NB power is gone, and she's no fun to play. The best 21 mil parse I've got with her is 68k, though I haven't tried the new Lokke/Rele/vMA/master's setup; I don't like using Flurry. I don't mind playing a class that's not BiS (I mained a magden before the Scalebreaker buffs for god's sake), but the NB class as a whole feels like it's in shambles for me- is there no happy medium between making a class ridiculously OP (stamcros at the moment) and just decimating it???

For the moment I'll say "nuetral." I play less PvE now and more PvP. The PvE feels little bland, but I haven't tried more than a couple characters.

Bland feeling is really my chief complaint. On the bright side, I'm using other builds like magden and doing more pvp than I normally do.

Its not the worst thing I can imagine but its pretty bad. Its boring and all my classes feel the same. Its the first patch where I've ever really thought, nah, this is terrible I'm just going to back off from everything dps related. I'll just tank or solo things, or play different games until they change everything again in 3 months and not worry about updating *any* of my 13 dps characters.

Hopefully when they review the class skills it gets a bit better. If not, I think I'll be switching from partially out the door to completely out the door. They may have standardized it, but its not fun to play any more. I miss my spamables.

Overall it's a positive experience.

2 of my DDs that I care about got slightly better (magplar, magblade), 2 got worse (pet sorc, bow/bow warden).

Magplar, on top of getting 3k more on the dummy, can now also go fully ranged with no DPS loss (I know, not meta, but I noticed no difference by replacing barrage with soul trap in a melee range test). I could also replace the unwieldy elemental weapon with crushing shock that now deals almost identical damage, is easier and safer to use (for example when you have to block a mechanic), and provides useful utility.

The magblade single target improvement (also about 3k) came at the cost of the already pretty weak AoE, but I don't really miss it.

On warden the drop was about 4k, sustain got better and mistakes with the new rotation fewer. Caltrops has a weird timing requirement for bar swap cancelling, so I make fewer of these timing mistakes now with soul trap in its place, and with it costing mag it's helping with sustain a lot. Also with the addition of minor berserk to Camouflaged Hunter I could remorph the wings so that they give me evasion, helping me with survival. Considering all this additional utility I'm ok with losing the 4k DPS there.

On sorc I'm still trying to figure out an acceptable build, because he lost whole 7k DPS overnight. Now to do the same damage I have to either give up healing from my bird, or play radically different, and I'm not sure yet, how exactly. Nothing I tried was of any help so far.

I've only really tested out the combat changes of the current patch with my magicka necromancer character, but overall I don't mind the changes. As far as class identity and rotation are concerned for my necromancer, the class still feels unique even after adding Soul-Splitting Trap and Degeneration (the only new skills added). The addition of these DoTs to my rotation (combined with increased magicka cost of several necromancer abilities) did create a bit of a sustain hurdle to adapt to and overcome, but my dps is virtually the same post-patch.

I was also originally concerned about the changes to Power Surge for my magsorc, but the switch to Critical Surge + Degeneration hasn't really changed my gameplay too much. I still get the self healing from Critical Surge, and I still get the Major Sorcery (and some increased magicka recovery) from Degeneration.

Long story short, the more I play the game post-patch and adapt to my new rotations, the less I mind the changes.

What changed with your rotation, it's always been a matter of keeping your dots up and using your spamable/execute when possible. The only thing that changed is that they added two new ones.

I think my DPS has improved with this patch honestly, I always had 25-27k, now feels more like 30

The PVE MagSorc build I WANT to play instantly lost 8-10k DPS making it highly undesirable for the content I enjoy. The Mag dot rotation meta is complete dog poo imho.

I really thought I would quit ESO, when the patchnotes first released, I didn't play for over 1 month, I did follow people's opinions on PTS up on this forum tho.

However after playing around with skills and switching things up my sorcerer is better than before, and it's more buttonpressing and not as braindead as it was before.

Welp- I can still clear vMA and vDoM non hm without issue. These are my favourite PvE runs atm so I guess I’d to have say it’s ok. The rotation feels weird on my mDK tho - not as much fun.

So I end up neutral.

At least I’m getting a ton of soul gems each run lol.

I thought we were moving towards class unique flavor when necro came out but one patch later every mag and stam class respectively have the same weapons and guild skills in most of their bar spots.
