Just wanted to say before i go back to giving ZOS their daily Happy Endings that there seems to be worse combat lag now. Went into Moongrave alone and fighting a pack of Senche caused some hefty slow down and stutter. Perhaps ZOS is just making the scenery too pretty these days.

On the other hand crash and logout issue has noticeable been absent in my sessions lately which pleases me mightily. im not sure if there is more or less lag? There has always been a lot of lag in ESO I think, has it gone worse?

I think it was just Moongrave Fane. Next when I ran Maarselok I didn't have any lag, so maybe Moongrave was just resource heavy for being so detailed a world space.

I’ve had hard group crashes in Darkshade II and twice today in Arx vet last boss, it’s still alive and well

It would be awful for me. I'd zone and it would be fine. Then zone again and it'd be awful again. I have no idea what's going on but I think the mega server place is using sketchy computers.

I've had 4 blue screen crashes (ps4) just going to my house.
Before Scalebreaker, I've only experienced blue screen crashes in Cyrodiil.

My guild is currently running Maarselok, and it seems to be very laggy. The time is 11:38 p.m. on a Tuesday night.

    Not exactly prime time

My experience is the complete opposite...I ran both new dungeons on vet and had no issues with lag...and the lag and desyncs overland have completely disappeared for me...but as always ymmv...

I also was there and had no problems on my end (486 dx4-100). Perhaps an upgrade of your system is in order?

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Have had a weird issue where the griund texture in front of me suddenly doesn't load and my toon keeps running in place at the edge between rendered and non-rendered ground until the ground in front decides it wants to render. Which can take anywhere from 10 seconds to over nearly three minutes. Pnlylace it happens is Elsweyr, Rimmen is particualrly5bad. But I'm not sure it has anything to do with population as this happens at off hours as well as prime time. And it only began with the most recent update which caused all rendering times to grow exponentially, particularly right after loading an area.

Did Moongrave twice yesterday, Lair once, then went into Cyrodiil - all with no lag & quite good performance.

    Just for balance 😉

I just find it odd how so many on the forum have such good performance.

Especially when streamers, some on the stream team themselves who were tasked with being super positive about the game and who were given that title to show off ESO in it's best light, have had lag and performance issues. These people have top of the line rigs with fibre op connections, and they still have issues.

Not saying I dont believe, just saying it's so very strange the people "employed" to show the performance of the game have had more of the experience of the "complainers".

    Meh

This is an very old bug as in more than two years

I tend to get it most times if I use gallop with rapid from Elden root wayshrine to the undaunted.
Notice the rain effect on the missing texture. Guess its just outside an render block and has not had time to update yet.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The quest markers in enclaves still take time to show up for me, as well as seeing dark figures, weird tetures, etc. I also have long loading screens, coming in and out of housing instances. I haven't run much group content, but in a vSS trial I was in earlier today people were complaing about lag/fps drops, same as before the update. There's no AoE desynchs anymore, which is great, but I don't think the so-called standardization of skills has had such a big impact on performance.

You can't upgrade a One X until Scarlet comes out next year. ;)

Lots of things other than ZOS’ code and equipment can cause lag. The biggest one that I’ve noticed is addons. Whenever there’s a new patch, I usually disable my addons until the authors put out updates, just because I’ve had so many performance problems that end up being outdated addons. As others have said, ymmv, but the fact that some people have terrible performance issues and others don’t leads me to believe that there’s more at issue here than the game’s spaghetti code.

Spaghetti Code -- something you usually see from junior developers still in the beginning stages of their career, but I'd hope you wouldn't see too much of that in an Enterprise-level software. Maybe some of the Add-Ons for people who wanted to step out of their comfort zone and start developing, but you're probably right that these should be considered when talking about performance issues.

i had the same problem in Moongrave Fane. I ran both dungeons twice the day after the update on PC. The lag was so bad my char would die and I'd only see the corpse a few secs after it had happened.

Both times the lag stopped somewhere after the first boss. I thought it had to do with so many people running the dungeons on the first days, but that doesn't make much sense since dungeons are different instances.

    Meh

Well, it's not like every streamer is running into all of the issues reported here either. Nor is it happening to them all the time. And I think the same thing is happening with the general player base. Most people are encountering issues but not everyone is affected in the same way.

Oh yeah i forgot you are on console. My bad :(

Does ESO continue on Scarlet, or are the games forward compatible?

Been an Xbox fan for decades now, but I hate the name they gave the new console.... Scarlett -- seriously?

Most noticeable thing for me lately is how long it takes wayshrine icons to populate the image when I look at the world map.

I know that's minor compared to lag, rubber banding, etc.

Scarlet is just another graphical hardware enhancement over the One X, so yeah Xbox One games should work on the Scarlet model, developers will just be able to make their games look prettier with the better hardware.
