Well, seems pretty standardized to me:
Javelin 28m, 3780 cost,
Scatter Shot 22m, 3213 cost, the highest damage out of the three
Destruction Clench 15m range, 2700 cost, the lowest damage out of the three,
All three skills have the same functionality. There is nothing standardized about them except that. I cannot evend find a weight pattern for cost VS damage VS range, there doesn't seem to be a rule in that. We can definitely say that standardization has opposite meaning for ZoS than for us.
It's totally close-combat weapon. And I'm a ranged class (mag sorc). Which means I effectively have 1 slot wasted for something I rarely play due to nature of the class. When all other abilities are working this one is greyed... sigh.
Whoever got this idea at ZOS... it's not fun. Simply put, 15m is not enough.

Really? For whom? Blind people? Cause I can't see anyone else whining for a skill that has such a long travel time. A well timed block is all you need. Can't time it right? Use a potion. Even if you use gap closer, you can block while using it.
Destro Clench was the best CC to catch a foe who is running away or to punish inexperienced, unskilled stamina builds that try to close the gap. Now it is borderline useless.
And then what? Play with matches? Stun is on the clench now, Reach does absolutely nothing for PVP now. I'd rather use crushing shock.
it used to be great for knocking enemies through the grates on top of the keeps...
I miss watching folks fall to their death like that...occasionally a tank would hit the ground and be able to not only survive, but, scramble back inside the keep...

Knocking enemies from the bridge is/was fun too. Not sure it's available now with close-combat range skill. It had to be a surprise to work.
oh my goodness...i completely forgot about the alessia bridge fights...i picked the covenant alliance to play on - so, haven't visited the bridge in months...i kind of miss bridge fights...as much as i tried - never had the pleasure of sending someone flying over the edge in to the water...
there should be an achievement for that
