Character Leveling Questions

Hello everyone, I currently have 12 characters that I am using to do writs as well as farming. all except for 1 are at lower levels. I am trying to find a way to level them up so that when I go out to farm with them, I won’t get killed so easily. what are some suggestions on how to level up 11 characters so that they kick booty,have the right skills and can get to level 50?

Daily random dungeon is a great place to start.
BG daily may be good for leveling as well.
Main Story line - also provides SP
Main story for each major zone - also provides SP

All of that is outside of just grinding XP by killing NPCs in an area as they respawn.

Do the faction and zone quests? You could do the anchor/dolmen grind, although that would drive me nuts if I were trying to level multiple characters.

I have a full roster and play all of them. I also use them to farm mats;each one has skill levels set to the mats I want. All but the latest new necromancers are at level50.

I just take mine to guild events where we go after delves, world bosses and skyshards. If we are doing a DLC/Chapter for world boss dailies, I make sure to pop an XP scroll because those are good XP.

Go skyshard hunting.

Every three you get is another skill point you can spend to strengthen your characters.

Every wayshrine, special location, mage guild book you find gives exp as well,

Literally go through as much of the map as possible, unlock every wayshrine, get every easy skyshard. If on PC plenty of map tools, if on console then I recommend http://teso.mmorpg-life.com/ as its a very complete resource.

Also when you do get some levels don't forget to have your main character make some armour for your minions.

All of these answers are correct, just don't forget to use XP scrolls. My personal favorite is to run overland content in condensed places like Deshaan or Stonefalls. Get lots of skill points.

Also, don't forget to have your alts go into Cyrodiil (preferably Kyne) and do the tutorial. You get 6 skill points for it.

I’m leveling alts in different zones, doing different quest lines; that keeps it interesting and never feels like I’m grinding levels.

Dont forget to make a set of training gear for them. All of my crafting writ alts/mules have training gear on them so that when I do decide to play that one alt today, I get as much XP gain for it as possible.


I try and do a daily delve on all of the alts on the weekend when I have more free time. After doing my daily crafting/riding training on all 18, There isn't enough available free time for me to spend time on them during the work week.


@El_Borracho: Thanks for the tip on the Cyrodil tutorial. I have avoided PVP so far.

@Thorvik_Tyrson No problem. Its often overlooked. You don't have to do any PVP to get those points. Fire some catapults, fix some stuff, talk to a couple NPCs, done. Its the easiest skill points in the game to get.
