The combination of making the game more casual friendly to play AND also changing it continuously every three months is contradictory.

A casual player logs in once a week. They grind for gear and upgrades which takes them 2 months. They finally learn how the game’s mechanics work. They’re not good yet, but they have a baseline. But in the third month... BAM... ZOS changes the game again on them. Casual player is upset their work is wasted over the past three months, so they leave the game.

Who’s left? The hardcore players. But they’re not happy either. They have to live through change for the sake of change. An inventory filled with golded out gear sets that don’t function or perform like they used to. And on top of that... the gameplay has been stripped down to become more and more basic. There’s no steep and deep learning curve that is rewarded any longer. Hardcore players eventually leave too.
