Monster sets out of favor?

I noticed on the updated Alcast stam PVE NB build (Rampage), next patch meta doesn’t use a monster set. All these years I have been trashing non-monster helms and shoulders...oh well, guess I’m not gonna be elite this patch!

(I know most people on the forums either love or hate his builds but they do tend to be well researched).

Wt? I just got my veli monster set. I only play alcast builds.

It's just because the builds are using maelstrom weapons.

Saw that too. He is running full sets of Perfected Relequen and Perfected Lokkes with 2 VMA daggers and the VMA bow. Not exactly the easiest stuff to farm. He notes you can swap out one for War Machine for one of the sets. But I still think (hope) you can get by with normal Rele + AY + Veli. Guess we'll see after Scalebreaker.

Big thing to remember is that Perfected Lokkes outperforms AY only if your raid team is popping synergies. Totally doable for a good crew, not so much for the pug crowd.

After double drops this week I guess everyone will be vMA geared out anyway!

Just replace the 2 vma daggers with daggers of one of the sets and run a monster helmet and shoulder if it bothers you too much.

Alcast builds are a good baseline to get you started but there's absolutely no reason why you can't modify any of his builds to better suit your playstyle.
