I realize performance updates are coming. I'll be the first to lift my glass in toast if things get back to just a normal state.
I also realize this complaint is pretty wide spread at the moment, but with the event the timing cannot be worse...

That said, right now is the worst I've seen the state of the game.

I literally cannot get past the first daedroth in vMA.
Why, you may ask?
This is why....
https://youtu.be/FD6CKdD_shI

It's happened four times in a row, and on this boss. Have to log out everytime, and when I log back in, I'm not even in the arena, but at a random wayshrine. This time it's Elden Root, before it was Wayrest.

Holding out hope for the future, but playing right now is an exercise in frustration.

Even just little things like hitting my shield and realizing that nothing comes up, or the game failing to register my roll dodge on the crystal phase in stage 9 is getting on my nerves.

    Buggy?
How can you even play it when it keeps freezing?
Doesn't exactly sound "awesome" to me...especially at this moment.

Edit: I see in another post you say you're new to the game.
Just wait until you die to invisible enemies, AoE's you can't see because the telegraph doesn't work reliably, or your abilities taking your resources but not firing off any damage.
Let's see how awesome you find it after a few months of that...

Ya I have run into a ton of bugs. Even not being able to loot bosses in dungeons. After playing WoW for too long (very polished MMO) I will take ESO any day of the week.

I think everyone's here, in game or the forum, because we like/love this game.

Still not an excuse for horrible performance. No comparison or passing the buck because "it's still better than something else" needed...

I find when a game fustrats its time to take a break. I do agree I hope the upcoming updates will fix some things but online games and bugs go hand in hand. Went back to EQ1 last year and I saw 20 year old bugs that were never fixed. It's just not worth getting upset about if you are having fun with all the other things that are awesome in ESO.

The main problem is this. Since day one, there have been performance issues. Everytime we complain, ZOS acknowleges there are issues, but here is something shiny in the crown store. A year later ZOS tries to fix the issue but create 3 more worse issues. So instead of hitting lag spikes in Cyrodiil, now i have the the twins conversions not showing up in VMol, fates on last boss being invisible the whole time in VSS, and the entirety of VHof being damn near unplayable with its not allowing you to bar swap and instant skills taking 2 seconds to fire and the steamers cone spinning around on 2nd boss like a damn pinwheel.
But here is something else shiny you can buy

I had a random load screen while farming in overland Wrothgar, then the game was stutter-y and crashed twice in a row. It's even worse when you're trying to get through a fight like in vMA and get issues like this :/

I would say BECAUSE combat is slower. more time for the game to process animations etc, vs ESO where with weaving and all that other crap - the game has to process so many different actions from so many players in so little time.

I am taking a break right now, actually. It's just reminded me how well other online games run in comparison to this dumpster fire.

I played WoW from vanilla on. I play FFXIV. I have played FTP/PTW MMOs. I am so tired of people on these forums talking to me/those of us with complaints like we just don't understand that online games have bugs, or that slow internet causes lag, or whatever excuses you all want to make for this.

I don't expect an instant fix, but as I said in another thread, I think it's good to keep airing grievances and making sure they know just how many people are being affected. For as many people here as like to say they've seen no issues and it's just our internet 🙄 I really want to see those of us with better sense speaking up consistently, because ...

right... because multiple incremental patches that they released the day after something easily fixable breaking - don't exist. and all those patch notes that can still be scrolled and read through are just fake news >_>

i'm not being an apologist. i'm saying that this incessant nagging especially about things that they have addressed and GAVE AN ACTUAL TIMELINE FOR is not fixing anything.

I'm not denying there are performance issues. i haven't run a random dungeon in EU in a while, because whether it actualy pops - is a crap-shoot. i have crashed to login screen as recently as today. i KNOW THE GAME HAS ISSUES. SO DOES ZoS.

right... because multiple incremental patches that they released the day after something easily fixable breaking - don't exist. and all those patch notes that can still be scrolled and read through are just fake news >_>

i'm not being an apologist. i'm saying that this incessant nagging especially about things that they have addressed and GAVE AN ACTUAL TIMELINE FOR is not fixing anything.

I'm not denying there are performance issues. i haven't run a random dungeon in EU in a while, because whether it actualy pops - is a crap-shoot. i have crashed to login screen as recently as today. i KNOW THE GAME HAS ISSUES. SO DOES ZoS.

all I'm trying to do here is to acknowledge that they are NOT ignoring us, and that they ARE publicly acknowledging the issues. i'm just trying to give them credit when credit is due.

Did you not read the beginning two sentences in this post, or did you just automatically jump in on the defensive?

I read it. and I reread it. and your point is? if they could hotfix this? they would. since they are not hotfixing it, this means that the issue is most likely related to framerate and animation processing issues they have mentioned that they are working on. given that the game freezes up on you when there there is multitude of effects on the ground/extensive ability use. couple that with a load on a server with multiple people trying to do the same thing and... how do you expect them to hot fix something that seems to be related to the issue they have a timeline for?

but sure, call me apologist and the reply with equivalent of "u mad?" when i call you out on it.

I agree. I love ESO, but right now it is so frustrating to play I have just given up! Playing FFXIV in the meantime and I'm amazed at how well it plays on PS4.

Same. I was floored at how well FF played even though the combat was slower than ESO before level 50. Although I'm on PC atm. I do love the crossplay for FF14 between PS4 and PC. I also like that if I wanted to play on PS4 it would carry over I just need to buy a PS4 copy of FF.

that said... i have to ask.. what do you all expect ZoS to do right now? today? do you honestly think they can just...whip up a fix in a space of a weekend?

I often see a reply like this, and I have to ask...

How is it that literally every game can hot fix issues usually within an hour that takes Zos 3 months (if we're lucky) to get around to?

it does not take every other game to fix issues like that in an hour? best case scenario issues that go that deep takes them months. worst case scenario you have WoW where there are bugs that were there at LAUNCH and that game is almost 15 years old.

    stop

    exaggerating.

    please.

ZoS have done their share of quick hotfixing... when they actualy COULD hotfix things.

Only thing I've ever seen them hotfix was the crown store.

The bug that wouldn't let you reorder your characters on the log in screen? That took 3 months.

They're talking about the first two sentences of the OP. Again, reading everything people say is helpful.
I realize performance updates are coming. I'll be the first to lift my glass in toast if things get back to just a normal state.

If you don't like reading performance complaint threads ... don't read them. ❤️
