Viable Imperials?

The title is self explanatory, Are Imperials still even viable with stam builds or they slowly being pushed into the dust? I know in the first few years of the game, Imperials had it strong (at least from what I seen, read, and watched). Now I try to search up builds for Imperials for ideas and don't find much unless it was years ago or they aren't that great of a build. I have read that they are not that interesting anymore and they are water downed Nords. Basically from what I understand, most players choose more interesting races that can achieve meta build status. Are the rumors true or can Imperials keep on par with the other races with the classes for end tier PvE/PvP?

I have not played the game for a while and trying to get back into it. Based on the info I have looked up, not one build has Imperial as the preferred race anymore, so this is the reason for my thread and questions. Maybe you all can shed some light on this.

Put some more points in health, use stam+stam recovery food, and do your thing. They are not BiS (orcs) but no body will say they are not viable

I don't hear they aren't viable yet, just not preferred anymore since other races surpass them in stam and health.

Diplomat – Increasees experience gain with One Handed and Shield Line by 15%. Increases your gold gained by 1%.
Tough: Increases your Max Health by 2000.
Imperial Mettle: Increases your Max Stamina by 2000.
Red Diamond: When you deal Direct Damage, you restore 333 Health, Magicka, and Stamina. This effect has a 5 second cooldown. Grants 3% cost reduction to all abilities.

This passives might not sound as much but with the right sets you can make viable builds at least on the Stam Dpds and Tanking side.

I love my stamden Imperial. It’s nice having that extra 2k health + minor toughness + blue food. For a damage dealer, he has a lot of health compared to others.

The 3% cost reduction and the 333 return isn’t noticeable. However, every little helps - especially with this new DLC coming out where most skills cost more

Imperial a decent enough race I’d say well rounded with the right sets you could make a very nice build 👍

I only play imperials, that extra 1k hp allows some flexibility. You can run lava foot soup if u put extra attributes in health for insane stam regen and a large stam pool. (Works well with stamcro cause u get another 1k hp and stamden with minor toughness) Alternatively with other classes, if u run gold food with 64 stam attributes you'll have slightly less dps and regen but you'll have a respectable hp pool and if ur doing a dungeon with a tank with ebon you'll have over 20k hp and u wont die. Nothing compares to the orcs overloaded passives, but imperials are way better now then pre wrathstone. Small tri sustain with a cost reduction completely blows the small heal on melee damage out of the water..
