Bekkael✭✭✭✭✭Abnur TharnI don't know what it is, but I just find Raz a very meh and shallow character, and I've tried quite hard to like him.
Abnur is not only sharp and witty, but as we've discovered in the Elsweyr storyline, he actually has a very generous and caring heart. Darien and Abnur are winners to me. Well written and complex characters, the both of them, and brought to life by incredible voice actors.
It's all good though. Personal preference is just that. The world would be incredibly boring if we all liked exactly the same things.

Oh Im sure he could probably out-snark the snarkiest, but to me thats just part of his appeal. Theres a sense that underneath the dry humor and sarcasm, his heart is in the right place and he really does care (though he could probably be tortured endlessly in the Halls of Torment and he'd still refuse to admit it lol)
Raz, on the other hand, I just dont connect with.
When I hear him call out 'My friend!' then 2 things come to my mind.
First the tone reminds me of one that would heard from a falmer blood elixir or a used horse and cart salesman, who use the same term with the same amount of sincerity.
The second thought is, 'And now what is it that you want from me furball?' Because it seems to me that in his view, I am just there for his personal use in order to further whatever his interests may be at that moment. This may be okay if our priorities were the same, but more often they are not.
Not to mention I suspect the 'My friend!' will no longer be heard as soon as he has no more use for my character as Im sure is a pattern for him, judging from what the females in Elsweyr have to say.
Honestly, if I knew a 'Raz' in real life, I probably would've stopped answering his calls years ago. It takes a little more than 'but hes so cute and furry and has a tail!' to cut it with me lol
